Just doing my civic duty by passing this along. It's unconfirmed, but the suspicion is that it's from FFXIV.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

Interesting.

May I ask the source?

there's like all sorts of FFXI-related pictures in that folder (none of which has anything to do with XIV by the way, aside from those fairly old screens from that CGI video that SE showed a few years back at TGS), just change the numbers in the URL and you'll see.

What exactly makes you think that this one is from a XIV early build? Seems very unlikely given the source, if you ask me.

I think someone plucked it off of a PSU board. I found it on gamefaqs and then on KI, but haven't looked any further into it.

Some are saying it's just a freezeframe from the old tech demo, I think.

Even if it's an old tech demo shot, it's a great look at the overall atmosphere that the game will have.

Assuming that it's from XIV, of course.

Looks wonderful to me.

Well I must say that's impressive.
If we could get scenery like that I'd be more than satisfied with SE's work.

They look like screens from the tech demo, still if XIV has areas like these I'd be happy, looks like a nice atmosphere. I can't wait for Squeenix to give us some official screens, guess they prolly won't til TGS. If even that. ;[

Is it just me, or does this look an awful lot like the boat dock at Alexandria Castle in FFIX? The whole scene with Steiner and Beatrix with the letter?

Just a thought...

Looks like Naboo in episode 3

Pics from the funeral

Edit. Yep, this is from Episode 3. If you compare http://www.royalhandmaidensociety.org/galleries/episode3/eiii_funeral01.jpg , right-side building complex then http://minus-k.com/nejitsu/loader/up8890.jpg , left-side building complex you'll see they are the same.

I thought this same thing too when I saw the picture.

And it looks EXACTLY like the funeral Naboo pictures.

I'm a little upset people recognized Naboo so quickly, but that is neither here nor there. >.>

I poked around this guy's other pictures, and he has Star Wars pics as well.

Hopefully we'll get some real leaks soon~:3

OMG JDI confirmed!

I'm going out on a limb here, I know, but I'm thinking JDI/NIN.

You really are. Most people on these forums already know that JDI/RDM will be best, as Fast Cast affects your Force abilities.

But, but, but wait... if I go JDI/NIN I won't be able to cast Lightening, which is useful when fighting the HNM Emperor. I think I only get that if I go JDI/BLM, right?

No silly, only STH/BLM does that.

(Been talking to my guild about sith vs jedi for SWTOR a lot lately)

Mmmm...perhaps we should just go JDI/WHM to keep Reflect (May I have it in FFXIV please?) up then since the Coruscant Emperor seems to be STH/BLM; I heard that improves the hairpin drop rate.

As cool as it would be, Sony let slip on practically every anouncement at E3 bar FF14, hence the smug comment after its anouncement.
I also remember that FF13s demo required something that involved alot of security gaurds, and one tightly locked box off site.

I can't think of anything SE have leaked by accident in the past...

Wooooot... alright then, we will roll STH/BLM ftw; shenk you bery mush for the hairpin. Plus I think a well geared STH/BLM can cast great "STFU silence spells" on JDI/WHM (no reflect for j00).

One last thing... I claim dibs on the name "Darth Maul"

Looks like Venice.

Even if this isn't an actual screenshot from the game, I'd be happy if it's representative of what we can expect.

Sort of...

You don't get force lightning as a jedi. Instead you might be able to get Emerald Lightning; Plo Koon and Luke could do this. I believe that Jacen Solo did it once before he turned into a sith. Instead of destroying matter with electricity you develop a current between you and the target that destroys the force that binds them together by draining it back into you.

It's much, much cooler than standard force lightning.

Also known as Electric Judgment, by the way.

For some reason, when I saw that scene, I kept thinking about the movie Steamboy and the city it was based in.

The tech demo has the same wyrm/dragon things in it from the trailer...its a real possibility (gear shown was probably more concept/HD versions of XI gear).

It was, they confirmed it at GDC last year when they had a screen shot from that tech demo right next to the words "Next-Gen MMORPG" when discussing the Crystal Tools engine. Be interesting to see how that area developed since than, Bastok had a very different concept when it first started and you can still see some of its forgotten past in its current incarnation like the tram system they nixed that took people too and from Jueno. You can still see the tracks in Bastok Markets I believe.

Edit: here is the pic
