OK, so this isn't exactly about windower and more about what Square should have added but didn't.

Now if they learned anything from the past is, windowed mode = good. Some people might argue this, I don't care about them.

What about the other things windower added?

TP View. It lets you see everyone's TP. Not saying there is going to be TP in XIV but is it safe to assume that there will be some sort of equivalent? One of the things that bugged me to no end was the large amount of spam there was hitting your TP macro just so you could skillchain.

I'm pretty sure they're gonna fix this. That or call Windower a third party software again, lol!

Encourages people to, you know, communicate. That's probably the reason why SE hasn't implemented TParty yet in the game.

Maybe they'll take different direction in FFXIV where nobody has to say anything when fighting but I kinda doubt it.

you *should* have to communicate, and SE should give you a reason to (skill chains, party tactics, etc.). However, not being able to see your allies' TP is stupid, considering you can see their HP and MP, as well as your own TP.

I'm in full agreement here. There are other ways to "force" people to communicate.

I'm sure it has more to do with the fact they probably could never gracefully add it in to the interface at 640x480 resolution.

It's kind of a sad fact that their interface was outdated the day the game was released.

Dear god this.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The chat box is broken on high resolution and/or widescreen computer monitors. There is no other word for it besides broken.

This is so incredibly true. I just started up again on a 22" wide-screen monitor. My chat bar is beyond huge. It takes up a good 1/5 (if not MORE) of my total screen and displays text in huge *** lettering.

I'd love to see the ability to scale fonts and font colors as well. LS chat doesn't just have to be a different color, it can be BIGGER than, say, the /emotes that are getting spammed around me.

Also something I would like to see. I would love the ability to freely modify and rearrange the UI. Not everyone likes it to look the same.

I also remember being extremely annoyed that I couldn't ALT+TAB while playing the game. I never worried about playing in windowed mode...I just hated having to quit the game just to go back to my desktop.

I never knew there was such a thing as "Windower", but I also only played FFXI for a few months and quit several years ago. Would be nice though.

yeah like other mmo's that you can do this in i would like to see this feature also. I always got annoyed seeing text, obstruct 25% of the screen. would also like separated windows for party, ls, and say text, so that it would be easier to different between all 3 instead of constant seeing them jumbo together.

I really dont care if you can change the color text but it adds annoyance to see mix color in one text box and filters dont really help and if you could minimize the text box would be helpful also.

Hitting a macro to show how much TP you have is not "communicating." All TParty did was removed a bunch of senseless spam.

Unless those things will be available to people on the PS3, SE will more than likely calling a bannanble 3rd party program.

You have to think in terms of what possible on the console. Add-os i don't think will work out.

Just as much as pressing the stun macro when fighting Cerb is. You inform your team that you've used the spell, and it's next guy's turn to use his when needed.

With the macro you inform the groups other SCer that you're going to go as well as the BLM that he can start preparing the MB. If that's not communicating, idk what is.

If I'm supposed to do a skillchain I still expect to get TP reports and I still give TP reports. Alt-8 has, and always will be, my TP report button. None of this changed when I started using TParty. You still let others know.

The difference is that before it I would report spam my tp every time I hit so they knew exactly where I was. TParty also allows me to see when another party or alliance member has TP so I can hold off for 5 seconds to ninja a skillchain when there are no plans for one.

That being said, I'm really hoping that we get a working IME for all clients, what TParty gave us, the ability to actually control our clipping plane, a thing that tells us how far we are from the enemy, etc. Or at least give us the ability to make them ourselves and use them.

I reckon they'll add loads of new features and not just the windowed mode (which they added later on to FFXI anyway). They said they've learned a lot over the last seven years and I for one beleive them. They had a good game and constantly made it better by adding or taking away certain features. Be it cosmetic or just-for-fun stuff to key job tweaks!

I've played a lot of MMOs since my FFXI days but out of all of those games I still find myself wishing they were more like FFXI! Despite the fact they have all this really cool stuff...

Things I'd like to see in FFXIV

* Interactable Environments/Other Players (Swimming, Player Housing Furniture)
* Lots of Emotes
* Hobbies (Fishing, Gardening)
* Crafting (I loved the crafing system, I just hope they make it so you actually level a bit more often this time)
* My Own Chocobo! (Anytime! No cool down! Option to raise it before your able to ride it!)
* Larger Parties (More than six players)
* Mini Map/Main Map (Better interface, player/party members positions, Quest Tracker)
* Experiance/Rewards from Quests/Missions
* Linkshells (All this was, was a way for clan members to talk. Add more features! Roster, calender, LS Emblem/Colours, I loved the website they had devoted to each shell, but that would be better in the game itself.)
* Better ingame Mail System (Ability to send actual Mail/Restrictions on Gil Transers from the start!)
* Mini Games (Triple Triad, if you could play this with other players in the game itself, rather than another pay-to-play seperate mini-game)
* A unique Item for those who play/played FFXI. A momento to furnish our houses with!

All I can think of!

All I honestly want is to be able to alt-tab in and out of full screen.

Something akin to chatmon would also be wonderful.

Yes and you probably want to do it without being kicked from the game too.
