Out of all the things they do in FFXIV this nears the top of my list. Possibly one of the top 10 things I want with the game.

/blist account

Now, my blist was always full. Every week I had to go through it and if I could not remember why the person was on it, the person got off it. However, I know there are a lot of idiots with a lot of characters out there and this would really help that out.

This also solves the problem people have with people having multiple characters. We can get our multiple characters, and anyone who is annoyed by the person has all of his current and future characters on ignore. I know this is a fairly old idea, but it's worth bringing up.

A longer list space would be nice as well as a space for notes about why the person was blacklisted.

It seems there are a lot of little ideas like this that could improve teh game without much developer time and resources required. Understandably it's difficult for developers to think of all these little ideas, but I do think it'd be worthwhile for there to be a staff member perusing for for minor, easily feasible ideas.

personally, blists and ignore lists are stupid.

There should be temporary blists/ignore lists that last for the time you're logged in or a day.

Someone is bothering you, thats fine ignore them, in a few hours they'll be selling something you want and you won't know cuz they're ignored and you forgot.

Remember this is a game, there is no reason to ignore someone forever because they made you angry once. You're playing to have fun; and so are they.

conversely, it'd be nice to put all your friends accounts on your friend list. there's no reason to have your friends main and 4 alts on your friend list just to see when he's on. just see when the account is logged in and have that be what you message (whisper, etc.).

The biggest downfall of FFXI in the end for many was it's community. The high school popularity contest mentality and oversensitive chat zealots drove the majority of the adult population and others away from the game.
