Who would like more linkshell functionality for FFXVI? I'm thinking:

-Show full member roster
-add/remove members that are offline or on diff character
-not use normal inventory for pearls
-allow addition of ranks and points
-add a bulletin board more expansive than the lsmes but not a full blown BBS

I know the last two features are possible through a web page, but it'd be nice to have the information available in game and real time. Thoughts?

/agree.

Also I'd like to add to be able to visually see what linkshell someone is in under their name without having to /check them.

Id rather not since just a name on top of a person is best and also I don't like the idea that you wouldent get to even see the name of your stalkers.

My channel with FFXI battle music and hard to find songs that were not even released on Original Soundtracks.

I also plan on uploading FFXIV music when the game is released.

Time each member was a part of the linkshell. If you leave and come back, the time doesn't reset, it continues where it left off.

Perhaps the option of turning on and off whether or not you could see what linkshell the person was in under their name. Not everyone would agree that it is best to only have the name. It would be a matter of opinion.

I hope linkshells become more than just a chat channel and a colour next to your name. Warhammer Online has a the makings of a nice guild system in that the guild itself gains experience as its members do, which in turn unlocks new benefits for its members. Id love to see something like that implemented.

Id also like to put in the obligatory request for some sort of meeting hall/place that the Linkshell can call their own. Instanced or not it doesnt matter really. Just a place the LS can do up with nice extras, maybe trophies off NMs they keel haul. Age of Conan attempted the whole Guild City and, although failed rather fantastically at it, the concepts they had were great. Of course the whole PvP bend wont directly translate but I think everyone would like the idea of having a small city built by the guild that could become an interactive part of the games world.

The ultimate awesomeness though would be if they were like Clans in the Ivalice line of FF games. You're not just in a LS/Clan/Guild for the chats and the raids etc but actively pursue marks as a group-- might be a nice way to introduce endgame content. Well-to-do Clans might get some sort of in-game recognition for their efforts.

I think most games allow an option to turn the guild name on or off. Also I'm not sure how looking at someone's LS is considered stalking, but to each his own I guess.

I like their idea in general, but it doesn't really work well imo. The way WAR set it up, they were basically creating incentive for people to kick out members that didn't log on every day. If I go on a vacation or a long weekend I don't want to have to come back to no guild or LS, but I do agree I'd love to see more interesting concepts such as leveling a guild or unlocking neat new features and growth.

I 100% agree with this as well! In WAR they sorta had this, but not really. One thing FFXI has done and does really well is the player housing. Most new MMO's look at that as a side item and push it down to the bottom of the "to do" list. But I think many people really like housing and guild housing would be a great way to expand on that. Say if you kill a specific dragon 10 times with your guild you get a trophy or something. That's a great idea and I hope they go with it!

LOTRO does the trophy thing and it can be kinda neat. Certain mobs drop items that you can take to a "taxidermist" and have a trophy made. It gets kinda old when you've got a bunch of common mob trophies that you don't want to throw out because...well...they're trophies...but for some of the bosses and other interesting monsters it can be kinda neat.

Just make sure we can still join multiple shells. Any other improvements would be a bonus, but please no getting locked into one guild/ls only as some modern MMOs have done. That would make me cry....

Another thing that could be in these new linkshells are reminders that tell you like, for example, "30 minutes until: Dynamis run".
