Canadian billing... PLEASEFollow

Hey all,

Through all my years in FFXI billing was always the WORST thing about FFXI, sure the SE customer service was a nightmare, but the billing system was a piece of crap.

I'm not gonna get into the monthly payment being lame. What I am looking for is a billing system for us Canadians that was a fixed rate, it was a pain in the *** that we had to pay in USD. My content ID plus mules would some months be 20+ after the exchange rate. then the next month it would be down to an almost reasonable rate.

So I am begging!! Please give us Canadians a break, give us our own fixed rate in Canadian dollars!!!!

I second that request living in the center of the universe that is Toronto...... although why you are asking I am not sure it says that your posting from the Kingdom of San'doria... is that a town in Nunavut?

Seriously though Canadian Billing would be great.

its a hope that everything with billing will be alright. Although its up to Square-Enixs interests. All we can do at the moment is speculate and wait. Although I hope they will learn to better their services.

Yeah. I live in America, but I can sympathize with how annoying that would be.

yet another thread started by a person who never read the original statements made by the dev team.

Actually it's called "Libel"... and only if it is fabricated, but hey, you are the admin.

I wish SE would accept payment in GBP instead of the Euro, cause right now the € is beating the £ into the ground!

That is why they aren't.

SE only accepts USD, Euro and Yen because the majority of their playerbase uses or CAN pay using those currencies. They are the most commonly used international currencies. They don't have to deal with the headache and legalities that involve constantly fluctuating exchange rates.

I'll be satisfied with simply having the billing go on cycles rather than "1st of month + pro-rate". Simplicity is good and it gives people a little more flexibility in determining when they will be billed. As for the Canadian dollar thing...I doubt it will happen. They'd be the first MMO developer I know of to do it, and it would just represent an extra cost to them and an extra fluctuation in their income as exchange rates shift.

I would love to see this happen, but as others have pointed out, it is just not very likely.

I don't believe any MMO company does this, and why would they, when it's simply easier to deal in USD when it comes to NA?

Even most international online stores will default to USD for NA customers. It's annoying, but that's just the way things are :<

For me they take GBP 8.99 out of my account whenever I extend my contract. If you pay by Switch/Solo/Maestro you don't have to deal with Euros or Dollers.

Imo the system set up of us is better too, we pay the fee on the spot and it comes directly out of our accounts, this means no automatic monthly billing, no insufficient funds leading to account closure, no double charges, no USD>GBP exchange charges, and our payment server seems to rarely ever go down.

I don't understand why they don't offer this service to all other cardholders to be honest.

In all honesty I'm surprised at the amount of people that don't think a GBP option is available, when it has been for about 3 years since the payment process update.

Edit: Since I'm buying the moogle add-on today, heres a few evidence shots;
Paying in GBP

Note also fraud is impossible as they do not know my security code and its required every month

ugh I agree, I'm Canadian and also a Toronto native and my ffxi monthly bill would be over 16 bucks. I just hope they don't have us pay a dollar extra for additional characters that was kind of lame lol
