I don't know if this has been done before by design, if so let me know how it worked out. I'd like to see a system where players can set up quests for less experienced players. Maybe as an alternative to the AH/bazaars for collecting crafting items, maybe just for the heck of it. The player fulfilling the quest would get some combination of items, gold, experience (all donated by the player who wrote the quest), and reputation.

I'm not sure what to give the higher level players as insentive, maybe a super version of reputation as more players do the quests? Just brainstorming here.

Its a nice idea but the problem I see with this is that why would players want to go to all the hassle of fulfilling quests to get crafting items for other players. Either the quest giver will offer less of a reward they could get by selling on the AH, or the quest giver will be forced to create a quest that equates to them paying over the odds for those items that could be easily brought from the AH. It would be great to add to the feel for the world if players could post quests in this way, but in reality it would just be a longer more round about route to doing a /shout or just going to the AH.

I could see this working for specific items that maybe are used in only one or two crafts, and therefore are not often sold on the AH/Bazaar/Ebay. Otherwise I doubt it would be financially sensible to pay others to attain items that you yourself can likely farm more efficiently than themselves.

Ryzom does have a player quest/event creation system, if used correctly it could be a great tool for entertainment and RP.

In a setting like FFXI it could be more usefull if put to smaller scale use. If one made a quest that gave a fair bounty for one beehive chip, for example, but was repeatable.. I could see alot of people useing it to get a few fast coins from randomly dropped loot they weren't realy farming.
If you aren't concerned about getting the items right away, it could catch you more for your money over time.

There would be plenty of people trying to take advantage of the system though, if the comunity is as cutthroat as the HNM hunting crowd i remember, so they would have to be carefull with how it is setup.

The fun part (for people like me) would be to gather a realy nice set of low level gear and offer an unnamed reward to a randomly chosen charater, who can use it, who will jump though a series of bizare hoops... maybe put together a little story behind where the gear comes from and let them explore it.
