I'm gonna have to go with Ul'dah because I believe that is where a Miqo'te should/would start. And it also appears quite interesting visual-wise.

I will probably be able to reach a definite decision after reading each city's background and seeing some in-game shots.

I'm leaning toward Gridania and Ul'dah at the moment, but if Lominsa has waves crashing against the rock formations, I will definitely begin there.

Ok, the more I think about it, the more I want Lominsa, so that is currently my first choice. I'm not thriled about wetting my furrr though.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

Straying far from the feasible, huh? And what makes you the king of observation? Huh?! So you get to declare what's feasible in SE's game now? Trying to pass it off as your own like a snobby little brat?! Someone needs to $%#@ you up. . .

Oh, and then you go on to say "blah blah cheesy design blah blah". It couldn't be more cheesy than your personality. Since when was a volcano town cheesy? Rock city? Cave palace?! Norg?! I bet this was the early stages of Limsa the port city lol Kinda looks like the artwork.

Hmm when I watch that it reminds me more of Ul'Dah because of the image off the site. In the artwork it has the same big dome, same medal structures coming off the side with the balloon/air ships in the background.

BUT...

Then there is all the water and Ul'Dah is supposedly a desert city from looking at the image. So water wise, it seems more like Limsa but I don't really see any tall dome structures in that city. They need to just release new footage of the cities and tell us what races start where! I wonder if they will do that this time? Each race has a starting city, but you can choose to be from any one?

Ah well I'm happy they finally gave us more information, but it just makes me want even more. XD

I think all the cities are great and rich in detail and art work. But im leaning heavily towards Limsa Lominsa as a Elzen or Roegadyn. The fact that they mentioned you might be able to be a pirate or a mercenary really catches my attention aswell.

Limsa Lominsa looks like a winner to me, out in the open, the sea, cool little buildings all conected on top of rock formations. I'm hoping it's like the Tech Demo SE had, or rather the size I like fairly large cities to explore in.

I like Gridania so much that I might just play whatever race starts there.

Heh, no surprise there.

Personally, I'm all over Limsa Lominsa so far. I love ocean towns, and I love complex, multipathed towns. Limsa Lominsa, with it's many connected islands just sounds perfect for me.

I really like the look of Ul'dah. And Gridania looks quite nice as well.
That being said, I really hope that Square Enix captures the majestic sense of space that these concept art illustrations show.
Bastok and San d'Oria were both really majestic looking places from outside the city, but once you're inside it feels so limiting on where you can go.

As far as races go, I hope that they allow your character to start in whichever of the City States they designate as beginner areas, if they even go that route.
You could even just start out in a generalized "n00b island/village/instance" shenanigan, and work your way up to the City State as your first adventuring goal, or something like that.

I have always loved forest scenes, so would normally pick Gridania. Limsa Lominsa would be something I woulod go for to, but for some reason I feel like trying something new that i normally would not go for.
So I think I will go Ul'dah, I like the artwork off the city (kind of closed with big walls around it) and it seems interesting it's in the desert away from everything. I think it will fit my personality better for some reason.

Totally agree! It looks like an awesome city and I think I'll be starting there. The mystery of Gridania and the safe feeling of Ul'dah are definitely tempting though.
