Limsa Lominsa is where I am from, my name is Siosai and I am a young Miqo’te, only in my twenty-third year. My grandmother was of the diurnal Seekers of the Sun and was being trained in the ways of the Healer; my grandfather was a hunter of the village. When she was still newly pregnant my grandfather perished in a hunting accident… my grandmother, in despair, left the village and began to wander. It was a few moons later that she found a home within Limsa Lominsa, having my mother. She went on to teach young children within the city the ways of the Healer while running a small inn near the port.

My mother was only five when an Elezen came to the city, worn down by many battles that he had partaken in. Grandmother said she instantly took to him, giving him a place to stay within her home. Wanting to leave the path of the warrior behind and find peace in his life, he took a job as an apprentice shipbuilder. It was less than a year later that they wed, and he took my mother on as his own daughter.

As my mother grew she wanted to see the homeland my grandmother had left behind, and at fifteen she made her way across the lands to see it. There she met a young Miqo’te warrior who took her in while she stayed in the village. They grew close, and when she told him that she would depart that week to return home to her city he decided to follow her. Upon return to Limsa Lominsa they married and I was born shortly after, with a younger brother to follow just a few years later.

I am on the shorter side, taking after my mother, with pale gray hair that falls to the middle of my back. I usually keep it pulled back in a bun, braids wrapped around the outside of it. I have soft honey-milk skin, and my father says my eyes are like the clear blue skies that lie above us. I usually wear looser, light clothes, not liking to be restricted as I wander the country on my journeys.

I am not one who stays to one path and my mother and grandmother knew this. I was taught the ways of the healer from them, the white magic that would aid me when needed. My father taught me the way of the hunter so I would never go hungry on my journeys. My grandfather taught me the way of the fighter, knowing that with this knowledge I would always be safe in battle. My true path is of the Healer, above all wanting to protect my friends and family… but I know I’ll always be safe on my own because of my families teaching.

Although I wander throughout the land, not contented to stay in one place forever… I always return home to my family, to Limsa Lominsa to the ocean I love and the sweet smell of the salty air that brings a smile to my face and a twitch to my nose. It is my true home.

Based on what I've seen so far, I'm leaning toward setting up shop in Gridania. I'm most interested in some sort of mage "job," and I hope they don't give us any of that "see-saw" mess with what we can master. I want to be an awesome healer and an awesome nuker.

Racially, I'm starting to lean toward Elezen because I like the way they look. "Hume" was my initial inclination because I wanted flexibility (i.e., may want to level a melee job too). A potential deal-breaker with Elezen, though, is if they aren't apt at mage stats. I'm thinking they may change things this time (or at least give us an option with, say, which "tribe" of a race we belong to... the Ul'Dah Galka mages come to mind).

Skill-wise, I'm leaning toward cooking and gardening because those are both things I do in RL.

I think I'll probably go by Bozworth... named for Brian Bosworth of Stone Cold fame (costarring Lance Henriksen. It's one of those movies that's so bad, it's good... and I want to tell people when they first meet me in game, "You can call me The Boz."

I think i will make a Elzen named Gaspari. Gaspari grew up among the dirty docks, and ragged mercenaries of the "Bustling Port City, Limsa Lominsa". Gaspari is a slim, tall Elzen with bronze colored skin and white hair. He has deep blue eyes like the water he has grown up on. His hair is white from a deficiency disease that was passed down in his family line. Gaspari only source of guidance was a Pirate named Mandarin. Mandarin was a Roegadyn who was brutal but fair to Gaspari. Mandarin taught Gaspari how to fish and basic blacksmithing but his biggest lesson was becoming a pirate. Unknown to Gaspari, Mandarin was the pirate who killed Gaspari parents during a pirate raid on a nomadic Elzen fishing village.

For years Gaspari sailed the sea with Mandarin aboard the pirate ship named the Nautilus. Many times did Gaspari sneak into the bowels of the Nautilus where he discovered the coffers to the ship. In these secret coffers Gaspari found many trinkets, but none more valuable than the staff Gaspari would hold and feel great power flow in his body. Gaspari realized the power of the staff when he seen the wounds he recieved at the hands of Mandarin heal upon holding the staff. From there after many more times did Gaspari dwell carelessly and unknowingly into the "Disciplines" of magic. A pirate at heart Gaspari always had a disregard for the rules aboard the Nautilus. The same rules Mandarin always made clear to him "No pirate, less it be zee Cap'n shall be permitted to enter to zee coffer's on da ship" he would always say.

Youth and a pirate education led Gaspari to sneek into the coffers one day while the ship was at port in Limsa Lominsa. To his surprise Mandarin was waiting for him in the coffers. Gaspari tried to lie and say he was lost but by the look on Mandarins face, the old weathered seadog new Gaspari was sneaking into the coffers for sometime now. Mandarin told Gaspari that the Cap'n new he was sneaking into the coffers and sent him down here to kill him. Mandarin saw Gaspari turn and look at the staff, and told him to grab it. Gaspari did not hesitate knowing it could possibly save his life if Mandarin decided to fight him. Mandarin turned his back to Gaspari and said " get going now lad, and take this" he unclasped his gun and threw it to Gaspari and said "Dead men tell no tales". with those two weapons in hand Gaspari bolted to the deck and off the ship. Gaspari ran as far as he could before ducking into a alley to gather himself. In that alley way he heard two drunken sailor talking and overheard one sailor say to the other "Im sure glad Cap'n Mandarin let us off zee ship to drink and cause some trouble on the docks".

And thats where the tale of Gaspari begins......

Can't decide on a city cos they all look nice, probably be Gridania though, I like the whole thought of living in a forest, plus the port town looks too much like Jeuno to me, if it was ACTUALLY on the floor instead of suspended that would be better.

Going to carry on by being a Hyur female named Fennella. Not sure on classes though it'll be something bashy bashy for the most party, I like armour and swords lmao!

What race will you be?
My current plan is to play as a Miqo'Te, i really like the look of them and the limited background story i have read about is really up my alley.

With what characteristics will you customize your character?
Hard to say at this stage but something along the lines of long colorful hair with any face paint / tribal tattoos they allow me, green eyes and brown skin.

Where will you live?
In the woodland city of Gridania, i'm always really drawn to forest settings and it fits in with the tribal / hunting aspect of the Miqo'te.

What discipline will you follow and within which of its classes will you start?
Every single new MMO i take up i say to myself "i'm not going to go melee this time... i'm going to try something different!" but as sure as anything i'm always drawn to melee regardless, so discipline of war and some form of front line melee class.

Thanks everyone and can't wait to meet up with you in beta!.

I've got my mind set on a tall and **** male Hyur. If anything, they're a steamier version of their Vana'dielian counterparts, and my LCD flatscreen's already fogging up!

I'm sure there'll be a way to psuedo-armorize your character into some sort of a Red Mage archetype, and I think that'll be where I stick my foot in. **** AND useful.

Hot ****.

In FFXI, I was an Elvaan named Syrus and I came from Windurst. However, as the years went by, I grew to appreciate and really like the Galka and Bastok, but of course, I would never restart. I also played FFXI with my best friend in real life, who was a Tarutaru. There was always something interesting about being a noble, serious Elvaan partnered with a cute, bubbly Tarutaru.

This time around, however, I am looking at the Hyur and the Roegadyn. I decided I will choose Hyur in a heartbeat if the character creation system allows for me to make a character that resembles a concept I have for an RPG (I'm a game design major). He would be named Syrus and have decently long, blue hair if the system allows. He would also go towards using great swords or great axes if they are in the game, he would be a heavy melee DD.

Otherwise, I am deadset on acting on the Galka love and choosing Roegadyn. When I choose a "big" race or class in a game, I always tend to name my character Flak, though this time I am also considering Zirc and Razchet. I envision a Flak with dark brown hair/facial hair, a Zirc with grey or whire hair/facial hair, and a Razchet with auburn/red hair/facial hair. Roegadyn would also be interesting because my best friend is now leaning towards making a Miqo'te, and I think the two "one gender" races working together has a certain charm to it. She's deadset on being a tank, and while I want to be a sort of melee class, I think I may just try to focus on a mage because a big hulking mage Roegadyn could be pretty cool.

As far as city-states go, Limsa Lominsa is the clear choice for me at this point. I can't get a feel for Ul'dah yet and Gridania, though it seems more-so in a dark deep forest, reminds me too much of Windurst and I'm looking for something new this time. The idea of a port city by the sea full of sailors and fishermen appeals to me. And the text mentions ivory being a building block of Limsa Lominsa, and I think ivory looks pretty :P

Thanks!

Busa here!

A midlander Hyur **** bent on amassing fortune and adventure with those he considers friends. An illusionist when the time to fight beckons but mostly interested in taking your hard earned money via crafting! The busy city Limsa Lominsa is where I reside. Never more than a boat ride or chocobo from treasures that need plundering or beasts that need to be dealt with weather it be with enfeebling style magic and strikes from my rapier or taking a darker aproach with scythe(assuming the put the coolest weapon class from XI into XIV lol) and dark magic. Ill leave the hero bussiness to the gladiators and keep their ladies back home 'occupide' while others wage war.

I am so totally going to be playing FFXIV! I'm gonna try to get in on the beta if I can.

Honestly, I'm not sure what race I'm gonna play as this time around. I'll have to wait until I actually get my hand on the game and see what all the different stats are before I make my final decision. Though as I usually do with MMORPGs, I'll probably end up creating several different characters before I finally settle on my final one. Though if I were make a choice based purely off of aesthetics, well... I still don't know! If they had given us male Miqo'te I so would have picked that. But since SE failed there, I guess I'm kinda stuck. Right now I'm kind of torn between Miqo'te, Lalafell, and Roegadyn. I guess I'll just have to flip a coin (yes, I will find a three-sided coin).

I'm not sure what city I'll be starting in, since we really know nothing about Ul'dah or Gridania. Limsa Lominsa is the only one that SE has really told us anything about. I'm gonna need more info before I can make a choice there.

As for jobs, I plan on playing as many different ones as I can. I see no reason to choose just one. After all, the developers did say that they wanted players to be able to grow in a particular way on one day, and then grow in a totally different way the next day. :P

Its been two days since I arrived in the city-state of limsa-lominsa. Getting to the island of vylbrand was no easy task And finding this so called adventurer is turning out to be just as troublesome. talking with the locals has proven to be of little help, piecing together the "I think" and "ive heard" storys are proving to be just as much a mystery, as the adventurer himself. The elzen's name hasn't traveled far, even here in his own city. I'm beginning to wonder if he even exists at all and if he does, why did the guild recommend him in the first place?
"Excuse me" I mutter under fatigued lips as I lay my weight against a stack of crates. The fisherman is a mountain of a man. His pale skin and dark features are strikingly intimidating. The Roegadyn turns his body and ***** an eyebrow. "can I help you sir?" he quickly turns to his equipment as some lures and bobbers spill out of his tackle box. he places his massive hand over his forehead and mutters something in his native tongue I couldn't understand, and quickly apologizes. "I'm sorry, let me introduce myself, I'm Torthen. Its a pleasure to meet you." Torthen strains a weary smile, The day must have been equally long for him. "I was wondering if you could help me locate an adventurer. his name is Aundair?" the words escape my mouth resembling a plead rather than a question. Torthen examines the anguished look on my face and bursts out laughing "Hahahaha!" he summons a laugh so deep and soulful it scares the seagulls from their resting places. "The mans been buying fish for me for years, he's talked me into delivering to his home from time to time, I could take you to his place if you wish?" A smile escapes as I bring myself upright.
Will Torthen be my Llymlaen, have I finally found Aundair, am I really about to meet the man I Have been seeking out these past days, and when I do find him will he live up to the anticipation that's been building up inside of me?

To my suprise Torthen is a light hearted fellow. He's well versed and very interested in all things infused with the power of magic. He's been living in Limsa-lominsa his entire life and took over his fish shop from "a friend"
We pass the time talking of far away lands and life by the sea. regrettably just as quickly as it began our partnership ended. Torthen waved his massive hand goodbye as he walked back to his shop, his part in this tale comes to a finish another name for me to keep in my memory, another personality for me to keep in my heart. I begin to think to myself if this is why I started to adventure in the first place.

The residential area is made up of several Terraced homes squashed together along a winding road, they all sit three floors high and are made up of the same indigenous white rock as the rest of the city. The architecture is nothing short of amazing, every nook and cranny seems to have been thoughtfully put into place as if some grand designer had plucked them from his imagination and set them into reality. My mind wanders as I walk the streets thinking what it would be like living here, the taste of salt in the air, the wind blowing against my face. I could get used to this.
I count the numbered door's each one bringing me closer and closer to my destination, Until finally I stand in front of the residence marked XIV.
For the third time I wrap my knuckles against the weathered door. The blue finish is faded and the wood shows no sign of upkeep. Unlike the rest of the dwellings this home seems to have been abandoned long ago. what a terrible end to my adventure it would be, If Aundair had gone out on a quest, or for some reason had in fact abandoned this place. But I can't think that way, He's here I'm sure of it! the wind begins to pickup and cold air blows from the north. I look around the town for peering eyes as I test the doorhandle. my time as a guild thief would payoff yet again.
To my surprise the door is unlocked. I slowly turn the handle and begin to open the door. The wind blow hard against my back as I enter the chamber "Close the door!" a rushed voice booms from an elzen man, desperately trying to keep dozens of papers from flying off of the table.
I panic and throw my body weight against the door, cutting off the tremendous force of wind. "I-I'm sorry, I was just looking for a-" the Elzen man cuts me off before I can finish my sentance. He's a middle aged man with a slender toned build, his white hair is pulled back into a short pony tail save the strands of hair hanging loosely on the sides of his face, drawing attention to his piercing blue eyes, they tell a story of discipline, bravery and honesty, but they hide a warm gentle kindness behind them. A small almost un noticeable scar sneaks up from under his well trimmed beard, possibly the result of some lucky mob's attack just barley breaching his guard. "its ok" he says with a firm but warm tone, he gestures in a welcoming manner "I am Aundair, how may I help you?" I catch my breath and smile "I'm Zalis, pleased to meet you" As I approach the table I examine the room. Its made up of the bare minimums A person would need to survive. Adventuring gear litters almost every surface of the room. A few lances stand upright in the corner of the room behind Aundair, mixed in with a few fishing polls and nets, the bottoms of which are concealed by a mound of backpacks, bedrolls, smithing hammers and other such equipment. "I have a proposal for you" I say as I throw two Guildleves onto the table. Aundair looks up at me intrigued and then begins to examine the portraits of Saint Moergynn and Saint Daniffen that overlay the leves. Aundair flips the Guildleves but remains quiet. I begin to shift uncomfortably waiting for a response. After what seems like several minutes he slams his hands down on the table, startled I jump back. Aundair looks up at me with eyes wide full of excitement "So when do we leave!" I can already tell this guys is going to be a handful, I wonder what great adventures await us.

Oddly enough, I don't think I'll be breaking from my FFXI race/class/city. I kind of want to see my new character a continuation of the old.

Which would make me a...

Hyur from Ul'dah (or Ishgard... whichever one Cid is based in lol)

Primarily going to be a Sorcerer (presume that is where Red Mage will be if the class continues), with a sub-prime of Chef ^^v

What race will you be?
Elezen! Even after 6? years I still love my pointy ears and height :3 I'm more inclined towards Duskwight (eeeevil shenanigans) Elezen, but if the stats don't fit I'll go w/e the opposite is (sun something?)

With what characteristics will you customize your character?
Hmmm, when I started Shinta, I had long red hair (which I have since donated to L4L), now that I have shortish hair again I'll probably try to get a face hair style close to that. Blue/green eyes, light skin, a kind face (way too many avatars run around looking ****** all the time XD), and as tall as possible.

Where will you live?
I'm leaning towards Ul'dah because I like the desert, but I'll have to wait and see how Ishgard looks. I'm planning to start again with a bunch of my old LS mates, so I may end up making mules in each town to see which layout is easiest to get around and try to convince my friends to start there.

What discipline will you follow and within which of its classes will you start?
1rst: fighters discipline-> Samurai/Paladin have always been favorites of mine. I always thought Katana+shield looked really cool when I played lineage II so if I can do that I might mix and match. If not I'll play around with each weapons/class and see which suits me best.

2nd: sorcerer discipline-> I don't really like mage jobs that much, but survivability/soloability is very important to me, so if melee disciplines don't have much in the way of of healing I'll probably try to learn at least cure/buff/~nas to switch to between fights (maybe something like RDM?).

3rd: Gatherers discipline-> mining, I like exploring and especially if I'm going to start in the desert this seems like a obvious choice.

4th: Crafting discipline-> gem/jewel/goldcrafter if available, if not then blacksmith. I was a 98? cook in FFXI and felt like it was a waste of time. I feel like I'm better off time wise making one rare 1 million gil item than ten thousand 1k pieces of food, especially if crafting is anywhere near as big of a pain in the *** as FFXI. Being able to repair my own gear would be pretty nice though.

Hope to see you all in beta soon ^__^

side note: BLU also a personal fav, so that might end up being my mage path

I plan to be a Roegadyne in Limsa Lominsa. I would make him tall, with white hair and a big beard and call him Captainahab. He would use a harpoon for his weapon, and also be a fishermen. I would go out on the open seas if the game allows and fish, and use my harpoon against all the beasts of the sea.

He would be unstoppable. His secret embarrassing hobby would be cooking though. He would battle against the pirates of Limsa Lominsa to keep his holy sea clear of all evil.

I'm not making any decisions until I see how diverse the character creation is.

I'll probably roll hyur or lalafell... more likely the lil' guys if there is no stat difference between races.

Need more info, though that was a massive update!

In FFXI I'm a hume who lives in San D'Oria among the Elvaan.

I often wish I chose Elvaans because it's a role playing game and in it I just made a character who doesn't look much different from myself. Also They hold bows and crossbows sideways, which looks cooler, IMO.

I plan to play as an Elezan this time through and depending on what the 4th city-state looks like I'll probably live in the kingdom-looking one.

Also I always loved how prideful and cocky the Elvaan are and from the description Elezan sound much the same. Going on this is sounds like the Duskwight Elezan clan will be the most prideful (plus they hate hyur/humes which sounds cool) so I would definitely choose that clan.

If only there was a clan who hated the Lallafell, I would choose them, haha.

I'll probably end up playing a Miqo'te named Catt.

White hair, blue eyes. Large build.

As for a projected pathline - I liked playing Monk and Puppetmaster in FFXI, so I'll probably take up a path that leads down that direction. I hope that there's some kind of Engineer/Gadgeteer skillset built in, even if not at launch, as I really like the idea of working around/controlling modified technology.

I'll be a "Galka", I'll use a Great Axe and go for whatever looks like a Warrior. As for the looks, I'll try to reproduce my FFXI character (which I won't quit, I might add).

They better have a "Galka gang sign" in the game, so to say ^^

It's actually difficult for me to say right now. In the past game I was an Elvaan, only because of their stats for my class and the way the armor filled out on the body. I didn't like multiple things about their looks though, hopefully they won't move so awkwardly as they did in Final Fantasy XI. When I see the races in motion and get a good view of all the customization and stats I can tell you what I'll pick.

From what I can tell you is, it'll either be Elezen or Hyur and my I will be reprising the role of a Dark Knight once again.

I;m gonna take the exact same path I did in FFXI.

I will be that Elvaan Black Mage.

I will be your Galka Summoner.

I will be your Taru Warrior who wants to tank.

Just not sure which one to pick yet, but I like being the underdog.

Yes, rdm and blu are my favorite jobs, but I hated healing refreshing or using my blu spells for physical dps.

What race will you be?
Rogadyn. I'm an Elvaan in FFXI, though back when I was starting, I considered being a Galka. I've always thought that if I had the opportunity to restart FFXI, I would do so a Galka. Thus, it's very likely I will be picking a Rogadyn in XIV.

With what characteristics will you customize your character?
Phisically, dark hair, light skin, light-colored eyes, medium stature.

Where will you live?
Ishgard

What discipline will you follow and within which of its classes will you start?
Reading the description about the Rogadyn, it talks about how some of them were trained in magic. So I would be a Rogadyn mage. If the racial differences exist in FFXIV also, the better; I like overcoming obstacles.

Riori stood straight backed and proud against the whipping sands at the gate of the desert city. His many pale scars stood in stark contrast against bronze skin. The light of a setting sun gleamed in shaggy golden hair. The charm of his boyishly handsome Hyuran face was marred by a line of tattooed kanji that trailed down the left side. The marks of a criminal. Theft. Assault. Murder. A fourth character was emblazoned in crimson on the right side of his neck. Lost, the kanji boldly proclaimed. Intense azure eyes shown with determination as they gazed out on the endless desert. The lopsided jokester's grin that frequented his features was, for the moment, replaced by a firm and serious set to his strong jaw.

As he stood under the massive gates of Ul'dah he thought back on how he had come to this moment, preparing to leave his home, not knowing when or even if he would ever return. He thought of the beatings he had suffered at his mother's hand, the result of her drug induced rage. Of the droves of men who laid in her bed, the source of her income. Of the day when he was eight years old he returned home to find that his mother was gone, he never saw her again. Of the fights in the sandy streets of the Great Desert City, brought on by his disgraceful heritage. Of the first time he was caught stealing food from the market, just trying to survive. Of the tattoo on his face and the public flogging that had been the result. Of the night he had bested every opponent he faced in a street fighting tournament in a dark ally of the Great Desert City. Of the looks of respect and admiration from his peers, the true prize of the night. Of the second tattoo to blight his visage, the cost of that prize. Of the betrayal that led to the third ink marking on his cheek.

He thought of how these events, as well as many more, had brought him here. To this moment. Standing on the cusp of the most revolutionary event of his young life. The prowess he had developed in the martial arts had earned him some modicum of respect. Maybe, just maybe, if he had enough of the former it would bring to him enough of the latter to earn the only thing he had ever desired. Tonight he left his home to claim the title of the Strongest Disciple of War the world had ever known. Maybe then he would find his place and maybe, even if only from a few, he would finally find acceptance.

When does the contest end?
#78 Aug 12 2009 at 6:03 PM Rating: Decent
I was a Hume in FFXI but I regretted it very much when I had a 75 blm, rdm, whm, but not that much with my rng,mnk,thf... but I don't know how similar it will be as far as race goes, but to be on the safe side I am going Taru... I mean Lalafell. I will most likely do a mage job, but I think I am more focused on getting a craft down first especially if it is at all similar to FFXI which I hear its not going to be but Ill believe it when I see it.

Oooh, this looks fun =)

Race: Probably Hyur male! Sometimes just being the same race as close to your own makes you feel more like you're in the game. Lalafell a close second, though.

With what characteristics will you customize your character?
When I first made Musica, I wanted to make the best representation of me, but my "look" seemed to match 1/2 all the humes. If costumization proves to be very diverse, I'd play around with it to make my "look" but still have that unique charm. Dark brown hair and a little messy-like. Skin will be pretty light, but just a touch of natural brown, gentle (maybe spunky) eyes and face. Oh and a little short. I'm all for having fun with this character.

Where will you live?
I'm leaning towards Gridania. Can't wait to ride the trolley thingies there! Ul'dah wasn't appealing to me at first, but just thinking of the desert-type city-state makes me giddy inside. I still believe Limsa-Lominsa is a Jeuno-like place.

What discipline will you follow and within which of its classes will you start?
Disciples of Hand, if it proves to have fighting capabilities, would be where I stand. We don't know too much about these disciplines at the moment, but if I can be some sort of "Tools"/Chemist job (throw bombs for damage, throw potions to heal party), or a revamped Puppetmaster, I'm sold. :D

... if I can't be that, I'll wield a pole/polearm and some curative/enhancing magic. Whack, smack, cure!

I'll be a Roegadyn from Limsa-Lominsa, named Pacifista.

I'll be a living fighting machine and use a Great Sword and a Gun named Annihilator to decimate everything on my way- for the True Peace.

I don't have any memory of my parents; I was found lying on a battlefield 15 years ago in the ruins of Ala Mhigo by a Duskwight Elezen rebel leader who raised me for the purpose of getting rid of the Hyur who have invaded the land of Hydaelyn, saying that only that way true peace can become a reality.

My hair will be silver and skin dark, and my character will be as large as possible. I'll have a swiss accent, and if I die, I'll be back.

I think I'd be a Highlander Hyur, named Armani (again yay). I'd be in a Discipline of War, probably a Gladiator unless they introduce a pet job, or hybrid of some sort.

All three city-states look cool, but I'd go with Gridania because I think a forest would be more interesting than a desert or ocean.

This time I think I'll go for a moon keeper(?) Miqo'te, even if that makes me a Manthra. In terms of look, I'd like to make her (him if they allowed a male, although i sincerely doubt it) bleach-white with blue/gold streaks if it allows, and blue eyes, will probably make her as tall as possible.

Disciplines are a undecided, I want to use maces as weapons, but would like to keep a gladiator route, but also branch into a sorceror healing. If the ranged attack (I presume there will be one) system doesn't prove to be as expensive as in FFXI, possibly take that up to. As I imagine the Miqo'te will have similar finesse as Mithra, so I'd rather wearing mid-strength armour than plate mail.

I'd like to start in the forest city, I've always liked forests and woods, so it seems fitting to start there.

A name is undecided - probably something latin.

And if it turns out I don't like the Miqo'te, I might settle for a Blue haired hume male, still using maces.

When I first started up Final Fantasy XI in 2004 I made an Elvaan but for a couple of years now I have been wishing I had chosen Hume though I'm not quite sure why. In Final Fantasy XIV I will be fulfilling that wish and creating myself anew as a Hyur. I will be trying to create him as a tall dark brown haired individual with green eyes.

In Final Fantasy XI Windurst and San d'Oria were the two nations I had to choose between as Bastok did not appeal to me at all and San d'Oria won that fight as I had decided that I had wanted to be a Paladin and what better place to be one than San d'Oria. In Final Fantasy XIV I do not have this same dilemma, all three cities look enticing and I have no class preference to help me decide. My love for the Ocean in real life however has me leaning more towards Limsa Lominsa where I will undoubtedly spend countless hours casting my rod into the vast seas if fishing is enjoyable like it was in Final Fantasy XI.

I am currently undecided as what my discipline will be. In Final Fantasy XI I played everything, quite literately I spend more time bouncing around between jobs than actually playing those jobs though I have always fancied myself more of a Melee type character than mage. My decision for Final Fantasy XIV is a hard one, leaning more towards the Disciples of War but I would love the opportunity to experience them all.

Race - Lalafell. They finally HQ'd Tarutaru.
Character looks - *** on legs. I like my characters to reflect me in real life.
Location - Gridania. Even though it sounds like a knee injury. Forest cities are pretty :)
Discipline - Some form of crafter. Probably clothcraft, it was always fun in XI and you could make some really nice looking clothes. As an actual combat job, I'll be looking into Ninja (if it exists). If not, probably one of the pet classes... Summoner has always got my blood pumping. But I'll try everything out. Variety is the spice of life, after all!

What race will you be? With what characteristics will you customize your character? Where will you live? What discipline will you follow and within which of its classes will you start?

Arkangelic, a mithra monk from the world of vanadiel with white hair and a petite body whom was imprisoned by the soldiers in red armor, until one day when a tear in reality granted her an escape. Upon reaching the other side she found herself among beings who looked much like her self but whom called themselves Miqo'te, and so adopted their race as her own.

After being jailed for so many years she has decided to embrace her new life and become a diciple of the land, so as to explore this new world, and has come to live in the land of Gardania with the Keepers of the Moon tribe.

my other character:

Ryeki is an Elezen with silver hair down to his shoulders and of slightly smaller stature then his bretheren. He is a Diciple of war and mainly follows the path of the Pugilist. He resides in Gardania learning the ways of the monk from Arkangelic.

However his past is hidden from everyone, even Arkangelic, though she has her suspicions that he might hail from Vanadiel as she did.

I would be a male elezen named drakus adourned with medium length silver straight hair, living in the Limsa Lominsa city port, seeing as how I was raised around the sea(till i was 12) it would make me feel more at home and comfortable. The profession I would take up would most likley be Blue mage because the blue mage personality fits my mind set(Blue mages crave power and forsake all other things). As soon as start I plan on picking up the sword and getting my character stronger ASAP, and also start to pick up the smithing profession so othat I do not need to depend on someone else to sharpen my sword.

My characters battle strategy is very simple, identify his/her weakness and hit it hard and fast, making sure to take very little if no damage what so ever.

My character is going to be a Hyur. I'll probably make him look relatively similar to my FFXI character. Kind of plain, the normal haircut, nothing flashy. I'll make his hair dark and his eyes gray if it's an option, or blue.

I want to start in the forest town, I really loved Windurst in FFXI, so peaceful.

I'm planning on making cooking my main focus. I want to become the master chef and make my food empire. I want to try to be a little more forward in setting up side trade networks with people and get well known that way too. In FFXI I managed it a little with buying beastcoins directly from a few people that farmed them and turning them into ingots to sell, I want to expand on that because its usually more profitable for people if they can sell their stuff right away like that and they make a higher rate of money per time even if they give you a bit of a discount compared to the auction house.

We don't have much info on how economy will be set up though, we don't know I guess, if there will be a main auction house really, or only player shops, or whatever.

Besides that, I'll probably work on whatever is closest to the thief class also to get some variety. I'll be good with knives both in the kitchen and on the field of combat!

Rated down?Really?
