Since then the Miqo'te have Diverged into TWO physically Distinguishable Groups-- The Diurnal Seekers of the Sun and the Nocturnal Keepers of the moon.

So maybe not male mithra but not female, hmm maybe some kind of Hermaphrodite? Guess we will Have to see.

Definition: Hermaphrodite

1. blending masculine and feminine: neither male nor female in appearance but having both conventional masculine and feminine traits and giving an impression of ambiguous sexual identity.

I've got a feeling, because SE has said that there will be a significant difference between males and females that they've split the Miqo'te race into Diurnal and Nocturnal to distinguish between male and female, while remaining one gender.

Then why split the Humans into Midlanders and Highlanders?

"Duskwight Elezen" Seems like we will be able to play the *same* basic FFXI races with a sort of light / dark characteristic trait we can add to them during creation. Just the Lalafell, at least now, seem to be absent from a sub characterization.

Yeah it will be a subcategorization. Elmer mentioned in the summation that within races will be clans. I'm guessing that what you people have pulled out: duskwight elezen, midlander highlander hyuran, and the sun seekers/moon keepers of the miqo'te will be part of the clans. I could be absolutely wrong but that seems logical. Also, I'm wondering how these will affect stats like SE mentioned!

maybe just me, but why the **** did they give miqo'te a "human" nose ?

at least they put the feline eyes mithra didn't have, but still, i'd prefer a more animal-looking nose...

as for the two kind of miqo'te, most people will choose the nocturnal ones(if choosable, not even sure) just because they think it look better...
(well, if lucky, half the emo-guy will choose dark-elven thingy and play some vampire-drk so we'll only have the hardcore cat-girl pervert emo there)

(and i want beheading between the hume Hyur highlanders -the midlander are just good to escort taru lalafells-)

Oh, and also I may be pulling this out of my @ss but I know we've only been given two models of miqo'te to look at. One is the same that was in the preview trailer with white hair. When you go to races on the main website she is the one you click on to get to the miqo'te information. But if you look at her skin/fur/tail, you'd note that they are also pale. While the miqo'te that clicking on that one leads to on the game website has brown hair and a robust skin tone. Think possibly that may be the difference in clans within the miqo'te?

EDIT: .... I said mithra once.... lul

Just a thought, but maybe the Mithra's of the Sun will be leaning more toward physical attributes and the Mithra's of the Moon towards more magical/spiritual attributes.

FYI, obscure speculation shouldn't be labeled as "new info"

Carry on.

Maybe this is there way of doing the Horde or Alliance thing in WoW?

Oh god I hope not jakarai.
I'm not WoW bashing I just hate the "HORDE RULEZ!!1!" and "ALLIANCE IZ TEH WIN!!1" crap that goes around anytime I bring up WoW with WoW nerds and I don't want that happening with FFXIV (my new baby).

Differences. It's as simple as that.

Example: How many humans believe in a god? How many believe that their god is the "chosen" god of gods?

I thought of it first:

i'd definitely like to see some faction seperation, but NOT to the extent of WoW.

more like EQ, where you start out as "good" or "evil", then you can build your faction as you wanted so your "evil" character could eventually be accepted by the "good" factions (with a faction grind, of course. unavoidable.) and vice versa. you could /tell etc anyone you want too, regardless of faction, it would be strictly an npc/story thing.

because not everyone is a "good guy" :p
