What would you like to see in a collectors editionFollow

Any big game these days has a box set, collectors edition, limited edition, pay-us-more-money edition.

So I'm wondering what the community would like to see in a FFXIV collectors edition (for now, assume there will be one normal version and one collector's edition).

Personally, I'd like to get
  • Art Book
  • Cosmetic in-game item
  • Free 2 months
  • Super cool box

I'm sure there's a lot of other cool ideas out there, so let's hear them!

Posters! The lack of decent FFXI posters to display on my wall has always been a downer, but I think some oversized FFXIV screenshots and artwork would work great. Oh, and maybe a mousepad!

I would like it to be like the FFXII collectors tin box, I loved that thing and still have it. I'm one of the ones who will actually watch the insider things on the DVD(or well maybe blu-ray this time)

I want them to have a full collectors edition guide as well like FFXII so it will have the art book packed with it with, and if you get the CE game you get a discount lol.

I would like an item given to me in game but nothing too drastic something just a little flashy like a pet or most of the useless but cool event items in XI. I

would like the first month free of course which they will do, and would be nice if they did do free two months but doubt it.

Maybe some free special edition theme for PS3 or a decent poster for once, or maybe! if they loved me, if you pro-order the CE you have a chance to be entered into a beta.

Can't think of too much that they can do or give away with an MMO lol

I would also like to see an art book, similar to the one that came with XII, where it came with the guide. I don't think the guide is necessary for this game though, really, as MMOs are always evolving. But that art book was really great.

I would prefer a figurine of some sort in lieu of an in-game cosmetic item. I'd rather have something nifty for my desk at work than a piece of largely useless in game equipment. Plus, I feel like in-game bonuses ought not be tied to pre-ordering, it's a growing trend I dislike in games today.

A crack at the beta would be cool too - some sort of lottery system maybe. Obviously they can't put everyone who pre-orders in the beta, but it'd be cool to have a shot at it.

Definitely some posters and an art book.

I also wouldn't mind a DVD that documents the making of the game and so forth. I think that would be interesting and something I would definitely watch.

I'm not too concerned about an in-game item though. It wouldn't make me want to buy a collectors edition.

I would really like to see some item (not in game) that is representative of something in the FFXIV world.

For example, TES IV: Oblivion collector's edition included a septim (amongst other things)...the currency of that world. I thought that was really great.

I would love any figurine to display on my desk. Mousepad sounds nice too. A poster would rock.

Maybe one of those mini trade figure sets they released of previous final fantasies but with characters from this one.

Art book I guess is unavoidable. (they always come with one)

I want a Brady games mini-guide on a par with the one for FFXI.

Truly, the stuff of legend.

  • A Copy of the Soundtrack
  • Poster/Posters... Could even just be a map of the continent of Eorzea. Back in the day, the original creators of EQ included a cloth map of Norrath with their game.
  • A Miniature Lalafell action figure?
  • An Art Book would be nice.
  • Making of the Game DvD would also be quite nice though I don't know if I'd watch it.
  • A badass box: It's my favorite thing about my Warhammer CE.

Special clothes you can wear. Special items for your Mog House. (C'mon, you know they have to have player housing again) Early access or beta access for late testing before the game is released.

many ideas sound good, exept for :
-the guide, that's a no, where is the fun ?
-the 2 months free(that would only means the collector costs the normal price+3months fee)
-important restrictions on in-game item, like only if this "collector" is avaible for every ff11 player, but being unable to go to fanfest, i hate the concept of the majority of player unable to get an item, it's very frustrating

i'm not saying anything angaist real-sized plushies(even if realsized miqo'te is a no too), because i love cute plushie, and i'd kill every taru to get a real sized wyvern plushie... but it won't fit in the box :/

just hopes SE make nice goodies(more that some keychains, 3 rings, few straps, a pendant and 2 plushie of carby and a mandy)

    edit : spelling

    At the very least:

    Copy of the soundtrack.
    A awesome as **** box.
    Some little in-game item.

And if they're feeling generous, some concept art would be really cool. There's a whole slew of things they could add.

I actually think a "basic" guide would be nice, but I imagine that will just be in the instruction manual. Maybe just something that has some simple quests in the starter cities, how to do them, some simple commands, maybe some maps? I dunno. Everyone knows the best information will be online, but just a little book with some basic information to get you going would be cool.

I really agree with BiBi here, I think it sucks hard when there is an item that is exclusive to people who bought the game early, or something similar. It'd be OK if it was just some innocuous little item, a silly hat or something, but if it's something that is actually really useful, I don't like the idea of them essentially selling it for real money.

And a soundtrack would be great too, except I don't know I'd ever really use it. Quite frankly, it didn't take me too long to turn the music off most of the time in XI, as I had already heard it so much it was annoying. Of course, now I listen to the music from XI and get nostalgic, since I've been clean for a year, but realistically, I won't have much use for a soundtrack until after I am done with the game.

Cloth map would also be really cool. The only problem I have with giveaway game posters/maps is that they're always all creased up and I hate it. They need to figure out a way to solve that problem.

Well as many already have said I would like to see

Some form off an art book or concept art posters.
A CD with some music from the game would be cool to.
    Some kind off in-game item.
    Maybe a map of Eorzea.

I still have mine from like 5 years ago when I started playing! XD

Like other people have said... so nothing new here. What I wouldn't mind seeing pop up in a Collectors Edition:

    -Soundtrack, or Partial Soundtrack
    -Art Book
    -Poster
-Miniature of the race the player choose.
    -Key Chain
-Maybe in game item that you get for pre-ordering.
    -Mouse Pad
    -More...

Maybe they could make themed boxes? You know either by race, or city themed with the races that come from that city. So if you wanted to be a Miqo'te maybe you would get a poster of their home city, a art book of their design, soundtrack of the areas surrounding the city, key chain of a Miqo'te etc. Or it can be done by city, so say if Lalafell and Miqo'te are from the same city you could get an art book about them, a key chain of the city logo etc... lol just an idea.

They could do was Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 2 did, if you pre-ordered in time they have you a limited edition signed poster and stuff but they sent the poster separately so they were rolled up and not creased in some square.

I would pay about ninety dollars for a collector's edition with an artbook, soundtrack, and piece of jewelry (a necklace would do). If the jewelry is high enough quality (not a piece of plastic with a sticker), I would pay up to $120.

Artbook with in-depth storyline and background info on the places/characters. Maybe a DVD with special "behind the scenes" type stuff on it. A Beta key would be pretty sweet, but i have to agree with an above poster, in that i kind of dislike this trend.
