This is not about Ala Mhigo which is lost before our time in the game but a question about another word for a city that keeps coming up. On the official website there are tabs for Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, and Ul'dah.

However, on I keep seeing the word "Ishgar" show up. Think there will be 4 cities or perhaps something was lost in translation? With the official website only showing 3 I'm guessing it was a possible translation problem or one of the shown cities will play hub.

EDIT- Ishgar is confirmed in the official website's information, however it is not located on the citystate tab~

Ishgar is a forth city but the info on this city is even lighter than on the 3 cities featured on the website... this might be because it won't be a starter city, or maybe its a smaller town along the same lines as selbina in FFXI.... or maybe its both.

Anyway it is not a translation error it is a town/city in the game but what its purpose is or any further details are currently sketchy at best.

Well I have seen the name Ishgar somewhere to, maybe it's a non starter city like jeuno is in FFXI.

I remember reading that it was a city in the mountains or in the northlands... something like that anyway

The Bigger question is the storyline on the website says that there were 6 cities in total. With the 3 cities featured on the website, Ami Mingo (or however its spelt)being the 4th and before it was destroyed the greatest. If Ishgar is the 5th city then when will we know more about the 6th city?

The official site says this under the "Introduction" section regarding Eorzea, and I quote:

"Calling the area home are several independant city-states, the most notable being Limsa Lominsa, bustling port and pirate hub; Ul'dah, a desert city rich in mineral wealth; Gridania, nested deep within an ageless wood; and Ishgard, bastion atop the mountains."

Those four cities alone are listed as the most "notable". I don't remember reading about 6 cities in total anywhere.

Click on the world tab on the official FFXIV site and read the story sub-section page 3/5 top of the page it talks about the fall of ala mingo and said it was the mightiest of the 6 remaining city states that had just fallen to the garlean empire..... or something like that.

Filian thank you for the information from the official website. It was misplaced and not present on the city state tab, causing myself much trouble. I will put an EDIT in the first post to let people know the question no longer needs posing.

actually, 5 cities should remain, since ala mhigo was one of the "remaining six eorzean city-states"...

add to that the fact ala mhigo may still exist, we just know the city fell to the garlean empire, we don't know if they are still there(not likely since it seems they left) or if it has been recovered(it's been 15 years), at least in a small city like tav.safehold...
