just trying to guess...

elezen :
-pointy hear : radar range bonus ?
-long limbs : larger swing, faster running

lalafell :
-agility : speed or evasion bonus ?
-endurance : bonus for running ?
-intellect : obviously for magic

hyur :
-know languages : negocition bonus ?(since there are leves for that)
-advanced technology : bonus for guns and things like that ?

roegadyn :
-strong : obvious...

miqo'te :
-good nose : radar range bonus ?
-powerfull legs, speed, endurance or jump bonus ?

or all on the site is actually just for background and won't matter in the game...

what do you think ?

Wow okay, radar range bonus? Hmmmm, those don't really seem like traditional bonuses beside the strength bonus. Guess we will wait for more info but I would bet they are more traditional myself.

Actually, they've stated that race won't really affect gameplay (at least not as much as FFXI), however gender and clan will.

I know there's a quote somewhere, but i couldn't dig it up.

well, "radar range" makes more sense than "aggro sound" for a pc? go try to figure another use for hearing and smell <.<

what i wrote isn't realy gameplay issues, most concern a "possible" endurance system for running/jumping, and the little compass on the bottom-right of the screen. the only real gameplay things in what i put aren't really game breaking

now...

race not affecting gameplay but gender affecting it is wrong to me... why not "guys are strong so they melee and girls are weak so they are just good to be rescued by the guys"

clan affecting it seems wrong too, you choose a clan for the race, yay! you get magic bonus, but you can't melee decently for the rest of your life... much more logic for a 200 kg of muscle roegadyn >.>

Ya, I know what you mean. Thats what I've been going with for a while now, but recently I read over the Lalafell description on Final Fantasy XIV.com, and noticed that it actually mentions that they have superb agility and intellect. I know, it really doesn't mesh with what we've been hearing before this. I'm a bit puzzled myself at how SE released two different articles which contradict one another. Maybe the differences in race will only be slight?

Most likely no bonus as it caters to min/max players. Which is why I assume SE is equalizing the races this time around in regards to stats.

Hellsguard, from the mountains.
Lalafell seem the only non-dichonomous race.

I think that is a word
