This month, Connect!On compiled a survey of its reader to see what they thought about Final Fantasy XIV and the information surrounding it so far. There were six main topics: Life in Eorzea, Organizations, Race, Amoury System, Class and In the Media.

There was also a little speculation and debate going on between Connect!On staff as well. Please note that there is no new information contained within this article.

Check out the survey

Thanks, Elm! I'm so glad you left the hiragana in the text; it gives me a chance to practice. ;o;

Is this how people actually think? Scared of new things?

I'm not sure about his reasons, but I was also relieved to see the same races. New races will be welcome, but I really wanted to have a new version of my old character, and I'm glad Square recognized that since it was really a make-or-break aspect of the game to me. I also find the races of XI more charming than those in other MMO's; it doesn't feel as much like a generic fantasy title. XI's races just have this quality to them that I think makes the game more immersive than others. I'm sure other people will disagree, but it's just my opinion.

I could be happier with a few more changes to the races, slightly more natural proportions on the Elezen, and I've never been a fan of the Taru (maybe just traumatised by all the "sexybeast" taru I ran across in XI, sorry nothing **** about a little teddy-kid in PJs :P) but other than that they look like thier dooing a good job. More races would be nice though hehe, might show they are adding originality.

In an interview the developer said "as for any new races, we can't comment at this time." That's not necessarily a "no".
