Sorry, I like Kefka, but I would never work for him.

He doesn't even offer dental.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

Shouldn't it be called Cult of Kefka?

I know they don't like this kind of stuff in the Asylum, but that really would be the proper place to ask this since most of the AoK members that are still posting on Alla are there... that and on the FFXI main board. Anyway, Who the **** are you?... I mean, sign me up.

BTW, by "Army of Kefka", he's referring to this.

I like kefka....but I would have to hold off joining a LS until the game launches. I like to play with people of a LS before committing to anything. Besides isn't it still up in the air whether or not you can choose your server at the start or not? Really hope you are able to. BTW your message of the day almost always has to be his laugh....just an unofficial official rule I would think =P.

Seems like you're the only one who remembers the AoK lol

Nah, I just think most people who posted there aren't looking at the FFXIV boards. There's several AoKers that still post frequently on the FFXI main boards and in the Asylum, including a few admins/former admins.

I'd join if I were going to play.

You weren't part of this thread's target audience anyway. While Kachi and lolgaxe aren't either, I've seen enough of their posts to know they'd have fit in.

I think you kinda stayed away at the time LOL. There were a lot of people that read but didn't post.

I honestly don't know what happened to Alien... He posted for a while in the Asylum after the Army slowed down and the thread got locked, and he had an avatar still as of about a year and a half ago. He swiched out the bondage bear thing for a screenshot of Paris Hilton eating a Carl's Junior Spicy BBQ Burger before the thread was locked though, and that's what he was still using last time I saw him post.

Anyway, I'd strongly suggest not using a Bad Taste Bear as an avatar. Most of them are NSFW, and Kao got pretty ****** the last time one got used.

If this thread had a target audience (apparently most of which reside in the Asylum) it should have either been posted there or better yet, been PMs.

To be honest, the original post would have been better written if it had said something like "Are any former Army of Kefka posters interested in forming a linkshell/guild in FFXIV when it's released?", but it's a little late for that now. People see the title and think it's a Kefka Fanclub LS/Guild topic and post responses without knowing that that's not what it is.

Really, this was intended for people who posted for several months in a thread in my journal in 2004. Many of them are no longer around and those that are are spread between several game forums, and only some of them post in the Asylum... that just happens to be where the group migrated to when said thread was locked several years ago, so PMs wouldn't be effective. Also, several of the posters in question have had their names changed, just like you... and sifting through a thread with over 32,000 posts for names of people that may have popped in occasionally is difficult.

Personally, I think this topic would have been best worded in some way similar to what I wrote above, and posted here and on the FFXI main board. After giving it some thought, I don't think posting it in the Asylum would have been wise because it would have just turned into a spiral of ************ hate there. I did send a few PMs to people who who are still active on Alla that hadn't posted responses here that still seem interested in FFXI when this thread first showed up, but as I haven't received replies or seen them post here, I suppose that just means they aren't interested in FFXIV.

Yeah, the thread was posted.

More of a matter of seeing if there was any old members who were checking the FFXIV forum.

How long after FFXIV release should we wait before making a new aged SUPER IMPORTANT NEED HELP THREAD.

Totally sign me up.

We need to hunt some AoK peeps. Anybody kept in touch? E-mails? Facebook?

I miss Alien and his bear sheep avatars. Smiley: frown

If anyone has Alien's contact info it'd probably be Trickybeck or Angstycoder. Angsty probably has access to all of their email addresses (that were current at the time we were posting), but I think using Alla's mailing list to send private messages would a breach of privacy laws.

As far as starting a new thread, I say whenever if we could get enough interested people, but I think a lot of the old posters have moved on. The Rants forum's not as scary as it used to be, and the Sandbox actually turned into a place people like to hang out. I think more 10k+ posters have most of their posts in the Sandbox than in the gaming forums these days. The truth is, I could unlock the old thread, but I prefer leaving it as an archive. I did un-nuke it though, since it was getting harder and harder to update working links on Danalog's thread.

If you wanna start things up again, my journal is at your disposal, but I'll probably have to write up some rules about what I won't allow to be posted there... like before.

I missed the original AoK and won't be in this one since I won't be making the jump. I wish you the best with it though!
