I'm noticing a pattern...Follow

The first online Final Fantasy was FFXI, as we all know. The second online Final Fantasy is going to be FFXIV.
I noticed that "XIV", as we all know, is fourteen. It's also just FFXI with a V on the end.

I wonder if this was purposely planned, and if it is, could we expect, depending on FFXIV's success, a FFXIX to be the next online Final Fantasy?

Just a pattern I noticed.

Also the whole console change thing.

PS2 Release
FFX then FFXI(mmo) then FFXII

PS3 Release
FFXIII then FFXIV(mmo) then possible future FFXV.

some how its more of a pattern of Playstation release... single player game then mmo then single player. idk its always been my thought before the announcement.

Did you ever notice how the first one was FFI. And then the next one was FFII. Before it came out, I already knew what the next one was gonna be. FFIII. I found their pattern long ago.

it was a joke lol.

but patterns usually are certain ways to speculate future outcomes.
Like ffxi and ffxii used similar engines
same with ffxiv and ffxiii using similar engines and tools.

Before ffxiv was announced. I guessed it would be either xiv or xv in the series.

so maybe certain patterns help with speculations.

also you can always guess that a Madden game will come out every 12 months or so. They also add 1 to the previous games number.

Two numbers cannot make a pattern, you'll need at least three.

This made me think of those stupid beer commericals where people made large stretches to see "patterns". I don't remember the exact ones, but they are along the lines of: "What's the most important position in football? Quarterback. What happens when you buy a $2.75 beer and give the bartender $3.00? You get a quarter back!"

I really hope the OP was not being serious. To assume that SE would either rush a MMO or hold on releasing it based on what number the series happened to be on just so it can have a couple matching roman numerals is crazy.

No, no, no. I think the OP is right...there's some kind of funky math thing going on. I mean, originally, IV was II, and VI was III, and what one would have expected to be XI should have been named XII but was instead called X-2. Downright spooky.

I'll provide the OP a distraction to keep him from feeling so silly.
