I haven't seen any information on rather or not the Tetra game will also be with this FF. My wife and I really enjoyed the one you had access to with FFXI. I have also enjoyed it in the various other FF games. If anyone has any information on this would you please inform us. If not perhaps someone knows some of the interviewers and could get them to ask about it? We would even pay that extra dollar a month fee Playonline charged to be able to play it.

My thoughts on tetra master can be summed up with this comic. I never got in to it myself, I prefered Triple Triad from FFVIII to be honest. I don't see why they couldnt add that along with a few other minigames, then I would gladly pay the extra buck a month. Or even better, let us pull up that menu and join a game while we play XI (or XIV soon). A few card games to take the edge off sitting around waiting for a party would be nice.

Triple Triad was actually fun, and had more to do with strategy than luck (until you got Doomtrain, at least; then it had to do with having Doomtrain). The randomized stat thing in Tetra Master killed it for me.

My vote is for Euchre with FF-themed cards. Pinochle would be better (more cards = more artwork), but I never got the hang of it.

Congratulations, you two were the only people in both America and Japan to even realize XI had Tetra Master!

While others will knock it for one reason or another, Tetra Master was a fun game and would have been the perfect game to play at the game tables.

After watching the new trailer between 1:10 and 1:20, it looks like there will be some sort of card game or something related to cards in XIV.

I'll continue hoping for the best..

Actually, that looks more like a dramatization of someone selecting a Guildleve. Could be a card game, but those are Guildleves he's playing with.

Tetra Master was a good minigame for IX, but I would rather have a richer strategy card game this time around, along the lines of Magic, Pokemon, etc. Xenosaga actually had a pretty good card game like this. The kind where you build a full deck of 30-100 cards and put it against other people's decks. Fun stuff.

Of course, there's plenty of room for two strategy card games in FFXIV imo. Especially as easy as it must be to develop for Tetra Master.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

Oh, Guildleves! I thought it looked familiar and I now remember seeing the image of one in one of the videos from E3.

Well, whether or not they include a card game, any kind of mini-game would be a nice addition since chances are you may have a waiting period before heading out on a guildleve. That way a player can find some brief entertainment while giving others time to prepare if needed.

They definitely look like guild leves, but the way they are arranged might indicate a card game :D

I like Triple Triad a lot more than Tetra master, but for amusing minigames, I personally would prefer that there be a carnival or an arena somewhere rather than to have card games. Square's proved that theyknow how to do this with Gold Saucer, and they have Tri-Ace as a subsidiary now. Tri-Ace knows all about making "fun cities" from Star Ocean. Something like the Fun City in Star Ocean 2 would be perfect for the tech level of this world.

As far as minigames you could play person-to-person... It'd have to be something addictive. I find that card games get old kind of fast, but we'll see. It'd be awesome if they had something like Chinchirorin. That's the most addictive thing ever for me.

I have been wishing they would add a PvP version of triple triad/ tetra master to FFXI. I was really disappointed when they were separate.

I always thought it would be cool to be able play it and gamble gil/items/gear with other players.

Since they seem **** bent on not letting us kill each other, I think this and some other cool minigames would be a really good way to add some PvP to ffxi that wasn't botting/claiming Nm's.

And I mean DIRECT PvP. Chocobo racing doesn't give you control, Pankration gives you very limited control. Why does SE always introduce things that could be really cool and ruin the **** out of the implementation????

Because it's fun to watch Sabin use Spiraler at the beginning of a fight in the Colosseum. Why would you want to actually control your character?Smiley: rolleyes
