It's been so long since the shell fell apart, and i've even forgot most of the names within the linkshell, but all i remember that it was a very fun one to be in, even if it was just a mere social linkshell.

So how many of you guys remember the names and the people of your all time favorite linkshell group? I imagine for those who aren't currently playing FFXI to have a hard time remembering. there are Those who are currently playing FFXI right now probably aren't totally in love with their current linkshell.

The experience i've had with other mmo's were that they'd only allowed you to be in one clan or group at the at a time. I enjoyed the ability to have multiple linkshells in FFXI. I hope that feature stays in FFXIV.

I've only been in two linkshells since the NA launch. The first one was one where I was the shellholder, but it had two incarnations because I deleted my character to change races. When that linkshell fell apart in early 2004, most of us ended up eventually joining my current linkshell, which has had four shells due to leaders quitting. Unfortunately, it's a pretty small group that's playing now... most have quit FFXI multiple times, some were banned... Our leader was banned without ever being told why, but we think someone reported him for fishing up Trumpet Shells while chatting in LS during the little he could actually play. There are a lot of people who I hardly remember now, outside of pictures and looking at old forum posts.

Anyway, I've got to say, I would have stopped playing long ago and definitely wouldn't have returned if it hadn't been for my linkshell.

I do, mine was Silence of the Taru. The leader was Inque, and when I joined it she was "high level" since she was 40 haha. I have many great memories of all the mission runs, AF runs and such from it.

Course it did finally break for reasons unknown to me, no other shell had the same feeling that one did so I stuck to smaller shells just to chat with friends. I came close to joining the end game shell Whirling Wind a few times since some of my buds were in it, but I just didn't have the time to spend on events.

I hope to find a shell/guild in FFXIV that has the same feeling of family SoT had.

I was in the same LS for most of my four years playing, so yes I do remember it. We were a social and endgame shell. Most of us have quit FFXI and we keep in contact with the intention of reforming the LS in FFXIV. I look forward to that day.

Pretty much same here except I was in various "social" LS and a main Endgame LS. But I've played with the same peeps since NA release. Some still play, some don't me included. We are also reforming. Can't wait to play with old friends again.

It's hard to forget because the friends who made it reused the name for our guild when we moved to WoW. I still have most of my old pearls and pearlsacks on my FFXI character somewhere though and surprisingly I remember a lot of the names of the people who were in them.

Ahhh xProjectxMayhemx was where it was at.

Seriously, I'm not even sure how we managed to survive with each other, it was certainly a crazy ride. It seems I'm considered one of the older members (while in reality, I was kinda new compared to most of the gang I remember). But it rocked. Everything was politically incorrect. Constant drama about everything.

But, I need to give credit to my bro Arelios/Fawkes. He really drew a lot of big players to the shell. It's rumored that everyone (including gil sellers) have had a xProjectxMayhemx pearl at one point. XD. I know there's a small group of us waiting for FFXIV to be released. My internet situation (satellite) sucks atm, so I don't know how much of a factor I'll be... but if i can.. I'm there.

I've only been in a handful on LS since NA launch. all were very rememberable.

Order Of the Pheonix: I co-founded this shell with a person i met in game named Benky. We adventured early in game together and formed a social LS. Many great friendships came from that LS. Benky, Bagelz, James, Garrison, Whytewolfe, Lilithin, Zerlatik, Moskie, Finathlon, lilsky and magestik. Oh how i miss that LS.

Then my brief money making stint in a HNM loot sellign shell. Enigma.

Finally to land in my longterm Endgame shell: Ilterendi. Where i joined up with a person i meet on teh very first day of playing: Vergil. while i never formed great bonds with people from there there were all my brothers and sisters. That was the shell I played with the most and longest. even though the shell breaks and restarts We were "unbreakable"

Long live Diabolos. Long live Ilterendi!

Divine Dreams, Unicorn server.

Eventually fell apart about 2 years ago due to a combination of people quitting the game and drama, but I spent the vast majority of my time in FF XI in that shell and I have a lot of very fond memories of my 4 years with an excellent group of people.

Shout outs also to Screwdriver (formally OrangeX), The Abhorrent Ones, and Syndicate of Darkness, all of which have provided me with some great friends and a place to call home.

One of my favorites was a LS on Lakshmi that has since disbanded called Elite Underground. I had sooo much fun in there and also remain in contact with many of the members via myspace. I don't remember the LS leader name but I remember he was super laid back and always helped us out. He truly played for fun. Good memories there!

I was invited to a JP linkshell (!) on Garuda called SAKABA, which means bar/pub. I was in a mostly JP party in Korolloka Tunnel late one night, and we were having a good time over in the worm room. The party was fairly talkative for a Japanese group, and I while I remained mostly quiet, I understood a good part of what they were saying because they mainly stuck with kana.

One of the players started making fun of me being an NA, thinking I couldn't understand him, which got a few wwwww's, but then I shocked the group by telling him "that was rude" in Japanese. He kept his mouth shut for the rest of the night, the rest of the group was impressed, and a particular Mithra started getting really friendly with me while trying to use some broken English. At the end of the day, she gave me the linkpearl and a friend invite before we broke it up.

I didn't use that LS much though, because most of its members used more kanji than I could read. Sad to say the Mithra seemed to just stop playing not long after that, but I still have the pearl. To me, it's more of an achievement than any fully upgraded relic.

Bloodstained Angels on Ramuh. Started about a month after NA launch and held together until last year. It even lasted for almost two years without a leader (he went MIA on us). Still in contact with a few though none of us are in the game. Going to see if they want to reform in VIX.

I can't remember the name of my first one, but I met two good friends, Ixn and Fearliss, there. Then StealthLeadAssassins (Kerayu and Hozu <3) after that! And MiserysCompany before I left. All this was on Unicorn. D(>.<) I still talk to Ker and Hozu even after quitting but can't get in contact with anyone else...
