Try reading it. It heavily points out FFXI flaws that people would agree and disagree on, therefor it warrants an open discussion on the FFXI forum.

I did read it. and it's the same old arguments, just with pretty pictures and not a blue background. I like my flawed game thank you very much.

Honestly, I don't give a @#%^, most people here don't give a @#%^, and if we do, there's this amazingly well named button on the left side of the page that says FFXIV General Forum

I stopped playing FFXI probably 4 years ago now. Sounds like there's been A LOT of improvements that would make me love to get back into it. But knowing myself and MMOs, it would probably be best to just wait till FFXIV is out.

As far as their wishlist, it's pretty standard for any MMO, to want good solo and party play, RMT control, an easy way to play with your friends (after all, it is a social game). I'm hoping all of these things shine through in FFXIV.

I really thing (and hope) SE has learned from their errors in FFXI and will make FFXIV a game I can enjoy for years to come.

FFXIV: Lancer, Fisher, Culinarian
FFXI: DRK 55, WAR 30, THF 27, DRG 27 (all retired)
WoW: Hunter 70, Warrior 29, Druid 26, Warlock 22, Shaman 19 (all retired)
EQII: Shadowknight 36 (retired)

Yea. I've seen these arguements before but they are still some of the major flaws with the game. I don't really agree with the solo content thing completely though now. FFXI has always been a party oriented game to fit the Final Fantasy theme and SE did a nice job with FoV which allowed for solo XP to be bearable while still sub par to a party XP rate. Not to mention both this and Campaign are an absolute godsend when it comes to regaining lost buffers.

The chocobo thing was completely under their control the whole time if I recall correctly. They actually adjusted the rental rate increase to help deflate the economy after the Christmas of '05.
FFXI: Ragnus Rondain of Phoenix Nin 75,Whm 75,Rng 43 (Retired 5/21/10)
FFXIV: Noemi Rondain of Saronia Arc/Mnr/Pug (On hold until the game stops sucking)
WoW: Ishkabibble of Antonidas Orcish Hunter of 17th level (Kinda active)

One thing I'd also like to add to that list is for FF XIV to have a better update/patch download system. Without the actual speed being on display when downloading the update, I don't know how slow/quick my download is, but judging from the time left, downloading the update seems to move very slowly compared to what my internet speed really is. I hope that issue can be fixed for FF XIV.

Although it may be cumbersome at times, I really enjoy the party system in FFXI.

In other MMO's such as WoW, things are so easy that you don't feel compelled to party up or interact with people, and when you do, it's usually only for a short time.

In FFXI you could party up with people for hours on end because you pretty much have to, and I do enjoy that more than just playing alone.

I hope they don't focus too much on solo play in FFXIV and sacrifice the community aspect that we all hold so dear.
