Is there anything that comes from other games that you'd like to see in FFXIV? It doesn't even have to be from other MMORPGs, it can be from any type of games.

Personally, I'd like to see a mini-game that involves something like Romance of Three Kingdoms style strategy war game. Maybe there's an army officer type of NPC where you can get repeatable quests from, and then you'd get rewarded with points to unlock the war game, the battles in the war game, maybe even characters/units for the war game, and probably decent gear too. It'd be quite a fun way to break out of the normal FFXIV play cycle while still being rewarding.

I want the old FF minigames in a portable form within the new MMO. While I'm waiting for people to "gather together" for an event, I'd love to just whip out tetramaster or spherebreak for gits and shiggles.

Sphere Break would be amazing to have. The challenge it could provide, especially with other players, would be just enthralling.

There are lots of features from other games I'd like to see FFXIV stealborrow. Most notably Public Quests from Warhammer. Probably one of the best MMORPG innovations in a long time.

Expanding on Autumnfire's idea: I would love that, great idea. Perhaps you get some gadget you keep with you that you can pull out anywhere and play mini games from previous games or new mini games while you're waiting for a party to set up. Perhaps you can even purchase newer mini games or attain some through certain quests in the game. I would also love a card game in which you can win cards from other people or trade with people...i think it'd be a cool touch.

P.S. Allegory can you elaborate on public quests please, i've never played that game.

Some cool games to have in FFXIV

1. Punt the TaruTaru (or whatever it's called in FFXIV)
-Simple rules, you just get a taru and kick it as hard as you can.

2. Pin the Tail on the Mithra
-Great when you pair it with some Eorzean Ale

I'd actually like to see like a turned based strategy game or something in the game where you can team up with people, or just like use a preset team and do something FFT style. But i guess that's why they make FFT.

Play Valkyrie Profile 2 and get a feel for how directional attacks and timing can affect damage on the monster on top of influencing certain drops if you break off select parts. I hope we get something similar in XIV since SE seemed to imply positioning in battles was important. This has the added bonus of making fights more difficult if something really good comes from a spot you otherwise wouldn't wanna be at (Break Fafnir's tail and Riddil, just don't Flail~).
Violence good. **** bad. Yay America.

Chocobo Racing that doesn't suck. Kinda like Bunny Racing from Star Ocean, but that wasn't really an in depth mini game.

Triple triad was a bit too easy once you got all the best cards. I think that's why people liked it so much. Tetra Master required tactics.

Sphere Break I'd totally forgotten about... that game was awesome and it'd give people a reason to farm mobs for orbs.

Also good... let's think.

How about the Monster Arena from Dragon Quest? Collect monsters, train them, then put them in an arena to fight?

How about a social armor set? Basically, a second equipment setup that overlaps your current one for display-only purposes, whether you can normally equip them or not.

Also, a "turn off equipment inspection" button would be nice...
