Fan Support for FFXIVFollow

We have started to see alot more details and videos for FFXIV in the past few months. I am proposing that we as fans should further support FFXIV. With the release of 2 trailers. I changed the music for both trailers to further promote the game to people who are looking for different music. To them ffxiv may sound a bit interesting.

I am also urging others to make videos of their own using footage from FFXIV trailers and upcoming videos. I want to see how creative our community is =).

My first video using FFXIV E3 trailer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_XDs0zXyBk

My second video using the FFXIV TGS trailer. (this was harder to work on due to vocals)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhXzAdAAhwc

My videos aren't that great. Although its the best I could do at the time. I will likely make more that hopefully get progressively better. I would also like to see your work so please post them here ^.^/.

Wait I got an idea! We could also further support the game by making up exciting news and facts about FF14 ourselves!

=P. Its more for showing support and interest to others. I joined ffxi first because of socom 2. My buddies joined ffxi even though alot of them disliked the ff series. Its all about interest. In this world of massive amounts of mmos we need to show alot of fan support for ffxiv to sway their interest towards the game =).

I feel this would go really well with the E3 trailer, but sadly have no video editing skills with which to make this dream a reality. woe is me

Awesome job. It's good to see that people are using the Forum to actually support the game instead of make a thread complaining about it. Hopefully you'll have a new Preview to edit on the 30th.

Keep it up.

Does anyone else worry that SE is doing such a horrible job promoting FFXIV that people are starting to feel the need to promote the game themselves by creating new trailers?

Just a thought...

Not really. Tell me how most games advertise?

FFXI had very few commercials and that was only because they were trying to sell the PS2 hard drive. Those commercials promptly stopped too.

The game isn't even in Beta, why should they advertise? Last time i checked a company with a series 14 games long really doesn't have that much to worry about when it comes to advertising. People know, just because we don't see them on the forums or going insane over it doesn't mean there aren't a lot looking forward to it.

The reason why they're not promoting it very well is due to the release of FFXIII. Just like how we haven't heard much at all from Agito and Versus, they're keeping those under wraps and just hyping up the release of FFXIII.

No! SE must tap into their funds right now and give us every bit of information about FFXIV starting right now till its release.

Go figure.

personally Blue Gartr videos of the past inspired me to keep playing ffxi. Alot of people thought, "huh a final fantasy mmo, why can't they just make a single player version" etc. Its just the beginning of xiv and with a wider variety of ps3's and broadband. I think a bit of fan support would be great. I am doing to keep making remixes as well as music videos to promote it. At the moment i'm just working on a ffxi video which is going to take some time to complete.

I would complain about the game, but when we all first started ffxi... it was very new and different. I guess I have faith on the upcoming title, my judgment will be left aside till the release =).

I'm sure a lot of us will return upon the release and bash a lot of things we don't like about it. But lets try it before we bash it, at leassttt, lol.

I'm not talking about advertising guys. I'm simply talking about giving enough information to keep people interested. It doesn't even have to be a lot...just a consistent flow of information.

I actually started playing ffxi again. I met alot of my old friends from over 4 years ago, who started again b.c of ffxiv. I think that just the announcement of ffxiv pushed my to try ffxi and fall in love with it again. So for the time being its calming my urge for ffxiv news. Even with anticipation. The more people who know of the game, can get their friends hyped about it.

I was playing a game called evony while my time off ffxi. I would talk about ffxiv release all the time, and I pretty much got 5 people psyched to play it when it releases. Its just word of mouth. To get others excited as we are. So for the years wait. I will try to convert couple of classmates when classes start for me. Anyway to support this game... I am totally for =).

The thing is, if they've only fleshed out a few of the details, continuous flow of information would eventually leave them with nothing to show off except when changes are made. IMO, I'd like to see info a little more often, but that's only because I eat the stuff up when it's released, not because I'm losing interest.

DW:
The music in that first video is pretty cool. It sounded to me of what you might get if you crossed the soundtracks of the Xenosaga Ep. 1 and a Miyazaki film like Spirited Away of Princess Mononoke.

BTW, in your sig it says "back"... is that a reference to FFXI? I noticed your name on the bazaar page on FFXIAH the other night, but I didn't know if that was you or whoever currently had your character.

I knew you didn't sell you character, but I figured it might have changed hands among your friends a few times. Anyway, how's FFXI? I'd play if I could afford to, but cash is tight right now.

I really enjoyed that Light Of Aidan tune. It's amazing how a song can change the overall feel of something like this.

I fell in love with it again. Its curbing my ffxiv craving.

tyvm. I did get a different feeling from the videos. I personally enjoy the middle i don't know why. It sometimes felt a little out of sync.
