What's so ridiculous about it? The system itself is pretty much a GameCube+1 with practically no room for expansion, and the GC wasn't exactly pushing the limits of tech when it came out. And while quality of games is another matter, just playing fast-paced games like Metroid Prime where you'd find yourself standing at a door waiting 5+ seconds for the next room to load while crap you dodged catches up to you was a pain. So, while I've come to expect loading times ever since I played my first disc-based media, the hardware determining the pacing of those waits is important.
the ps2 although perhaps slightly inferior to the wii had a game library vastly superior.
Also yeah the wii is slow, i love the house of the dead games and its not unusual on the new HoTD: Overkill to have serious lag spikes that affect gameplay. The game doesn't have amazing graphics either but the wii just can't handle it.
I personally think although the wii technically might be superior to the ps2, i will never believe it to be. **** other then a graphics/memory update the speed and overall functionality, exactly the same, well except their game library SUCKS! (yes a few golden titles here and there but overall it is lacking mad style, be honest, the snes was the last system with a huge amount of games before developers starting jumping ship).
