The Distant Worlds concert has wrapped up in Chicago and as promised, it included the world premier of two Final Fantasy XIV pieces. The songs were ones we have heard before in the two trailers that are available on the official site. However, they certainly come across with greater impact when played by the Chicago Pops Orchestra.

Jesus. That wasn't the promised "world premiere", was it? I've heard that song(s) a good 10-12 times during the last monthS. And the "S" is capitalized intentionally.

Eeeeeeexcellent! *rubs her hands together*

It really reminds me of old school FF scores, and not just because it's Uematsu, but because of the "feel" of the music. I can't wait to hear more!

Thanks Elmer!

I wish the orchestrated versions would make it into the game, they sound so much more epic than the current ones.

I liked the end of the trailer however, I don't think we had heard that part of the song yet.
We really want to compete against World of Warcraft and for example the new Star Wars MMO.

True. The last part of the score, when the big screen just shows the FFXIV title, is new. Great stuff though, loved it! Need to upgrade my sound system to 7.1 soon. This game is going to sound amazing!!

I was at this concert, and it was pretty awesome. Seeing Nobuo San plan One Winged Angel and just rock out on the organ was fantastic!

I was at this concert too, i had no idea what to expect when i was there but it was really cool. Deep down I was so hoping for some new ffxiv video when they played the song but of course they didn't.
