from what I read and see about this game it seems when youre in town theres an object that will teleport you ANYWHHERE you wanna go? is that so? thats pretty lame I mean so theyll be no running/riding from one town, across the lands to the next or exploring on foot? I mean sure Im 100% sure you CAN if you WANT too but how mmany peopel are gonna wanna do that if they can just get "warped" everywhere they wanna go? I mean there sgotta be some incentive to run from point a to point b or some incentive to ride a chocobo/airship.. I mean I dont wanna go out exploring the land and its baren of people running aroudn in it looking like a ghost town or a game that n oones plays due to the fact that everyone is just teleporting everywhere they wanna go lol.

Also doesnt there new "weapon systtem" sound unbalanced? I mean your "job" is ddetermined by the type of weapon youre using? so if Im holding a dagger Im a thf (with all the agility and evasion that comes with it), then 2 secs later I toss on a staff (or club?) and now Im a white mage and start curing myself then toss my daggers back on and Im a thf again?

"Imagine what FFXI woudl be like iof you could change jobs in mid fight liek that? Oh no Im a thf, my evasion rocks... uhoh I just took 800 damage,, lemme change to whm.... yay now Im a whm curesself for 800 hp, yay Im fully healed again, uhoh I just got a link... uill fix that.. changes to beastmaster chramsd link and has it fight my current target untril my pet (or it) dies, then change back to thf and start my evasion processes all over again."

I mmean doesnt that seem way to easyu and too easy to exploit?

#3DuoMaxwellxx, Posted: Dec 21 2009 at 11:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) first off your attempt at being funny fails, my post wasnt typed half as poorly as your overexaggerated attempt to "mock" my typing. Secondly you cant change jobs midfight in FFXIV? So I cant have a sword in my hand one minute and being a warrior only to change to a staff/club midfight and now I have access to curative magic? thats funny then cause I coulda sworn I seen videos and articles proving otherwise

DuoMaxWellxx: That is awesome. I find solace in the fact that you were able to get that much concern packed into so tight a space. I feel like there should be some job available to you in cereal box propaganda marketing.

As far as the content of your post, I did not read the teleportation system in the same way you did. I understand it as a series of connected crystals that you can warp to. So think of warping from one homepoint crystal to the next in FFXI. It is sort of like Outpost Warping.

Don't fret my friend. Once the game comes out, you can lash out in anger all you want. I would save up some of the angst. If you get all riled up now then you wont have any ammunition left for the real outrage.

SE did mention they let you switch job on the fly, but didnt mention you could switch during battles. if you could find videos to prove it, lets post it and share w/ everybody here.

SE stated that you cannot switch weapons during battle. So how will the system know in battle? what if you disengage from battle, can u switch weapons then? I'm not sure what artice it was in but it was in their.

ok even if it was home point crystal to homepoint crystal, well theres an HP crystal in ever town, so even then if i can jump from town to town, Id have no purpose to travel on foot/choco/airship between them) I mean even with FFXI once everyone has all OP warps, and WG to jueno/home country warp NPC, and and starter city to WG warp how often do you see that persn getting a teleport from a whm, or ridsing an airship (the airships or desoltae these days) not to mention staging point warps. Sure you nmight say well FFXI have thos ethings (as i just listed) and no one comaplins, well the differce is you had to earn thos eluxuries later on you couldnt start off doing them from day one like FFXIV seems to suggest.

As for it being homepoint crystal to homepoint crystal warrps, actually an article said the crystal can be used to wrap you to places where a battle/mission/quest fight etc etc take splace so youd be using them to go to mor ethan just city to city. As for the link that says you canm change weapons on the fly (i.e even in mid fight) Ill be right back with that

I also remember reading that mid battle switches will not be allowed.

As well there will be some some sort of consequence for using Aetheryte multiple times in a short succession to stop players from traveling to multiple locations quickly. Most likely unless you unlock a leve or travel there by foot you can't just teleport there (even some areas will be locked until you open that leve). You have to have been there before or have a purpose there, otherwise the game would be too easy.

They never said you didn't have to "earn" them like FFXI, and they mentioned there is going to be a limit on how often you can use them. It's not like anyone is stopping you from walking though, QQ moar. They also explicitly stated you can't switch weapons in combat but didn't explicitly go into how out of combat switching will work (did mention you will have access to some JA even if you're not using the weapon associated with them), maybe you got confused in the video where they are switching between different players (elvaan archer, hume gladiator, taru mage)?
