Who else is as well?

I cant stop thinking about it.. im a retired FFXI Online player.. got it when it first came out for the PS2..

((((NOT SAYING IT CAME OUT ON PS2 FIRST, JUST SAYING I GOT IT THE EXACT TIME IT CAME OUT ON PS2 WITH THE HDD.)))

I just cant wait for it... its just like my other fantasy world or life that I miss so much.

It literally is a way of life on the other side.. lol.

I do martial arts in real life.. various kickboxing.. etc, and to have a profession in there, to compensate for the profession and waiting for it..

The real life profession of Monk I like to keep doing while waiting for it .. lol.

..I cant stop thinking about it!

Obsessed too!

Refreshing inbox every 10 seconds to see if I've been selected for Beta. Having dreams about playing the game. Had a dream I woke up christmas morning and SE fibbed about release date and it was released! I woke up thinking it was christmas day and we needed to go to the shops immediately.

After my girlfriend slapped me in the face and told me that christmas was another week away I went back to sleep with a very sad disposition.

Oh I'm fully aware of the consequences of my obsession. I've had 'The Talk' with my girlfriend who claims she will be understanding but won't and my 4 month old son will just have to father himself from now on.

*end sarcasm*???

I sure hope so, cause there are people who do ignore their real life responsibilities to enjoy a few digital moments.

I keep checking my email more and more every day.. because of this Beta.. lol. I didn't do anything extra either.. like have my friends sign up as well.. or try to get ahead in an unfair way..etc. I just simply signed up.. myself.., hoping I get into the Beta.

Anyway about that guy I quoted.. ****. lol

Im sure theres ways of fitting them in our life but.. , I have a girlfriend too and I love her very much. If we ever had a baby, id teach it by the age of 2 maybe.., even 1 how to press the X button for me over and over again.

lol.. id train my baby to play FFXIV for me and make it smart at a young age.

I had a dream I was a Roegadyn last night and punted a Lalafell! I'm not joking either lol. I really can't wait for this game to come out. The last time I felt this way for a game was waiting for FFXI! This time it's worse. I'll still have my RL but I wont see some people for a while. Just wont have time for everyone :)

Though I don't specifically check for any beta specific emails constantly, this game has greatly peaked my interests and the anticipation is starting to drive me nuts. Even my wife is excited about me being excited, which is odd in of itself because she hates MMOs or video games for that matter.

I'm not nearly as excited about this as I was about FFXI (although now I am 31, and then I was around 24-ish when I started hearing about FFXI). The nice thing is that my Fiancee is now well versed in FFXI and my daughter (7) is excited about it too (she loved playing FFXI, even though it was just on mules for a few minutes).

I am hoping to get into FFXIV beta as well, see if it is something casual enough that we can all play together a couple times a week for something different to do. As much as I enjoy bowling, movies, hiking, etc... sometimes it is nice to just sit down and beat on some crabs :P

I'm glad I'm not the only only one having this... "I can't stop thinking about FFXIV and nothing else in gaming peeks my interest" syndrome.

I have plenty of new/old titles to play, but I find myself on these forums, instead, reading.

It's been on my mind nonstop. Just looking at the gameplay videos, the trailer, the screenshots and all the forums. Man I cannot wait for this game to come out. Kudos to Square Enix for all the information coming out about it. The game is looking very good right now and even if it doesn't offer much in the beginning there's probably going to be so much to do that it will be time for an expansion in no time at all. I can't wait for Beta honestly. And I am aware of the no breaking NDA on Allakhazam as it is a premier site but I'm am definitely looking forward to Beta information if I don't get in the beta.

Does anyone remember watching the live stream of FFXI before the game was released in the states? I watched that constantly, japanese players were near the home point crystal casting all sorts of spells. Was pretty awesome. Hope they do the same for Beta and at least let the outside players watch a live stream.

Yeah same here, before I hear about FF14 I was bouncing back and forth between WoW and AoC. Once I heard about FF14 suddenly all my interest in those games vanished and I wanted to come back to FF11.

So I am currently playing FF11 killing time till FF14 comes out. I have that feeling of a kid on Christmas morning, which I haven't had in years.

Wish I could but I need a new PC, my current one wouldn't even start to run it... Hopefully by the time launch comes around I'll have figured out the one I am building and be ready to tear it up.

Must say I've caught the bug. I really can't wait to play this game, and I'm almost thinking about picking up XI again. I know how that particular story ends though and so far I've resisted :D
#38 Jan 11 2010 at 8:15 AM Rating: Decent
The thing I'm looking forward to the most is the fact that it will be a new game, a new place and a new experience (even if some aspects seem recycled).

These games are the most fun when everyone is still learning and everything is new and unknown. After too much time passes all the math nerds start compiling their parsers, spreadsheets and data, cracking open the game to reveal the bones and sucking all of the fun and adventure out of it.

These are usually the hardcore folks that were first to reach max level wearing useless Artifact armor. Thankfully they have peeled back the onion and can now tell you exactly what to wear and how to play, revealing the unavoidable science of the perfect job combination and situational gear sets. Now you don't have to make the same mistakes they did (and lived to tell about)!

This is mostly just a ramble, but I hope the new game somehow gives more options to the gameplay so that we won't fall into the same ruts that suck the fun and sense of mystery out of the game. To be fair, I realize that the game data that has been revealed in FFXI is a tremendous help as well, especially if the quests are as downright cryptic and impossible to decipher as the ones in in the current game. Maybe the new combat system will leave room for spontaneity and fun.

I know it probably won't happen in the long run, but at least in the beginning we will all be hopeless noobs having fun in a mysterious new space...if only for a little while.

I didn't start getting into FF hardcore until they started releasing games less and less, so I'm kind of used to the wait, fortunately or unfortunately for me >.> However, I do think about it quite a lot, mostly for the chance to possibly see how the vets in XI who started at release or around release were able to be so well-off within a few years. I also loved hearing stories of people around release doing things that are unheard of in XI today just because they had no idea what the **** to do. It seems silly now, but back then it must have been a lot of fun, and hopefully the same will be true for XIV!

this waiting period is like the summer between your Junior High and High School.
you are going to a new school, new teachers, new friends, you are curious how it is going to be, can't wait to see the old friends from Junior High in the same High School as you do, and constantly missing some of the nice teachers and wish they will teach in your H.S. as well, and also pray the cheeseburgers wouldnt be as awful as your Junior High's

at least thats what it feels like to me

It's like Christmas Eve ..and you snuck over to the tree to find out what that big present is !?!?!. You sit on the sofa and rest your finger tips on the edge of the present . Then you rake your finger nail against the rapping paper while making a fake coughing sound.to disguise your devious act. You look down at the place where the wrapping was torn to find........part of a word written on the box. Your curiosity gets the better of you and you begin to rip the wrapping again ...where you are caught in the act, yelled at and told to get away from the tree and have to wait...
