Since we've already seen that we can see cameltoe on the female Hyur's character creation screen, do women want to see the outline of a guy's crotch during character creation?

I know, I can't believe it's gotten to this point. But this is what happens when SE holds back so much info.

I've got an image of what the male character creation screen may end up looking like:

Eh. I didn't know about the camel toe thing. Its pretty distasteful.

Hope they edit that out before the game goes live.

Distasteful? I didn't even notice it. I consider it a slight bit more distasteful that people are leaning over their keyboards to try and catch a glimpse of an animated ****** veiled by thin panties.

And to add to this:
Penises and vaginas do not exist. Barbie is anatomically correct and these are fictitious items that are no more real than the infamous "****" or "brain."

What would you have them do? What could possibly be distasteful about this?

#7Cyiode, Posted: Dec 31 2009 at 12:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) My guess is that the pictures we have seen of the female Hyur "character creation" are pre-rendered graphics that may not end up being in the game. FFXI used in-game graphics for the character creation, which makes sense because you want to see what the character will actually look like in the game.

I um...I'm not sure I've thought "I want to see some hot bulge." Even if it was there, I'm not sure I'd spend the time in-game to go looking for it. That's an interesting question though.

This reminds me of watching the movie "The Watchman". The big blue dongle was just an annoying distraction, and I really doubt there were girls sitting there thinking "Oh, that's hot, I want to see more!"

When I took my g/f to watch the movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", which has full frontal male nudity, my g/f would just start laughing every time she saw the ***** on the screen.

A lot of the women I know are not all that interested in the package details, but do want to see nice looking male bodies. This roughly translates into nice faces and muscular bodies. Several of my females friends went to see G.I.Joe solely for the bodies.

That all being said, I agree with Shadowstalker, if it would be there in RL, put it there.

In WoW I used to play a Big Bear (Druid). And after playing the Bear for some time, staring at it's back, I did wonder: "Why don't I have any nuts?"

For some reason, because that bear is me and I am him, I felt castrated.

I hadn't been on the site in a while and didn't notice the new sections. I didn't find the camel toe all that noticable, but it is definitely there. I don't think it is a huge deal, just like I don't think it would be a big deal if male characters had a slight bulge...

As for the first person view of the lalafells... the same comments were made about Taru's when FFXI was first discussed lol. The character creation looks like it will be pretty decent for the most part. I know I will have a lot of fun making a new character when the time comes. I will miss my little Taru, I just don't know if I can find it in me to re-create him on another game... or even use the same name...

So long as bulges are randomly assigned upon creation I'm cool with it. Although it does seem tempting to re-create until you get the tarutaru with the mondo-dong.

I think bulges in FFXIV are OK, I think the camel toe thing is going a little too far. While I am not a woman, so I don't know for sure, I feel like any women playing a female character will start to feel uncomfortable every time a lalafell runs up to her to view her camel toe. This will deter women from playing female characters.
Is the same exact thing... Yet another double standard enacted by society.

You wont be able to see the camel toe as soon as the female actually puts on some armor and/or gets out of her started armor for better armor. I think it would be ridiculous to show a bulge or camel toe on any real armor. This would only be for the started armor/early level armor at most.

EDIT: Can you imagine a male character with extremely heavy iron clad armor with his package somehow creating a bulge through it, would be very weird.

What's the big deal? Some want to look at straining boxer briefs. Some want to look at camel toes. Some even want to look at both at the same time.

The key here is not exacerbating a double standard. Let the Battle of the Bulge begin! (How can no one have said that one yet?)

Unless we're getting RSE gear, which looks the same as the starter gear with good stats, again.

Also, as for the people I'm playing the MMO with, while everyone thinks about ***, I don't want some teenage kid jerking off while I'm in a leveling party because there happens to be a female hyur in the party. Or the kid himself could be the female Hyur taking his character's clothes off between battles.
It is a double standard. Most people seem to have no problem with bulges but when it comes to the delightfully named "cameltoe" it's omgnews. I can't say how many times I've seen stupid pictures in the media or on news about how some girls "cameltoe" was just spotted. No one gives a **** if it's a guy's bulge, but if it's "cameltoe" then ****************************************************************************

It's an mmorpg. You're going to be playing this game with some seriously ****** up people and you won't ever know it. You'll just need to get used to that idea. Do you have any idea how many people used "naked skins" in FFXI and how easily accessible those were?

To answer the OP's question, no.

Potentially hypocritically, considering ******* a defining characteristic of women, I favor the larger size to both avoid confusing women with androgynous males and the potential fun/tease of dressing them up. Top-heavy, in the negative sense, is oddly something not in my vocabulary since a lot of busty women I know who complain about back pain are lazy and may not even be wearing the proper bra. Understandably, a legitimate concern they do have is mass-produced clothing rarely fits them well, which is a shame. More lewdly, if looking at the function of boobs to wang, the former strikes me as more nurturing with potential naughty applications while the latter is pretty much undeniably sexual or primitively used in reference of dominance. Funnily enough, you'll see some who say small ******* are good (or that more than a handful is a waste, but I just consider them less imaginative), but I don't think I've ever heard anyone seriously say a small ***** good.

I admit that I peek up a casting male Elvaan's tunic in FFXI just for the bulge.

That said, I'm a back and neck person. I'd much rather they give careful attention to the details of a hunky guy flexing his shoulder and back muscles than give me an anatomically detailed male camel toe.

Quote:

Small isn't good, but anything too much larger than average is actually rather painful for most women.

Well as a straight girl being surrounded by lots of fanservice in things such as video games (FF games are a perfect example), I get sick of seeing boobs and asses on girls and you know, a little balance would be appreciated.

If the actual female character models have cameltoes, which I already find a bit much... then I want equivalent detail in the male models too. XD

Heh, c'mon now. Don't try to paint me as some ultra-conservative who'd have everyone lead repressed ***-lives just because I said it's "distasteful". I think my response is pretty reasonable.

This is a game that younger audiences can play. If you want nudity or sexual themes, play a expressly mature themed game like Age of Conan, or check out some ****. This isn't the proper medium, by any stretch of the imagination. There will be interactions between 42 year olds and 13 year olds in FFXIV. Does it seem appropriate for one of them to be virtually dressed in revealing underwear?

SE went through the effort to model it in there, that people noticed it sure as **** isn't a shocker. It would have been less work to leave it out, and I think that they should have. No, I'm not freaking out about it, and no, it won't affect whether I play the game or not. But I'm not pleased that it's in there. What would I have them do? Uh, not program it in? Are you kidding me?

To those saying "after you get your first armor, you'll never see it again" :

People will run around in their underwear in the game. Mule characters are left undressed 99% of the time. Yeah, you'll see it plenty if its in there.

13 year olds don't have genitalia? I'm not trying to paint you as anything. There's nothing wrong with someone having a ****** or *****, so I see no reason to hide the fact that they exist. Indeed, sexuality itself is not wrong. As far as I can tell it's mostly American culture that considers it to be so taboo.
