I was until Cryptic released more and more news. The game now looks like a shallow borefest like the rest of cryptics mediocre games. What a shame how I wish a better dev company had picked up Star trek.
That was no hemroid doctor. That was an alien hoobajoob

Is it actually the most anticipated MMO of the year? I've seen conflicting reports that show Star Wars: The Old Republic as the most anticipated MMO. Star Wars > Star Trek any day.

And to answer the OP: No, I'm not going to try it. I'll try Star Wars though. <3 Bioware.

I'm a major Trekkie, but I don't really care for STO myself. It's cool they recruited both Spocks to do VO work though. My biggest gripe is the Federation is at war with the Klingons again. That's just not realistic if you watched the ending season of DS9. On top of that, the way the ships respond look terrible as does the graphics.

I think any game based off of a story with so much following is going to be sketchy, just like Star War Galaxies (although, I've heard that game was excellent in it's original form). They're going to make a game that's more of a giant themed chatroom for trekkies to run around in, RPing. Which in and of itself is not a bad thing, but if you're looking for a gameplay and solid storyline dynamics that aren't predictable, because you have not been following the universe for the past 30 years, I would stay away.
I will wake up at six a.m. again.
and I will find my way to the front door
like a soldier crawling through the smoking carnage.
smoldering bodies at my feet,
I'd love to stick around, but I've got someone to meet.
and I will put my best foot forward.
and I'll thank god I made it out of there
on the day when my new friends come.

FinalFantasy XIV is the most anticipated mmorpg of 2010, don't let inacurate polls fool you. There's a reason that games made from movies and T.V shows suck ***.

might try it... most my mates and myself are trekkies, but i'm an FFer first so well... FFXIV will definitely take precedence.. but if i can afford the money and the time to play both... why not?

Like all of the MMOs I'm following I have my doubts about it but there are aspects of it that really make me want to try it out. I'll probably preorder it to try out the beta.
