Welcome to the Future, SE! Now, let me dazzle you with this new invention: it cooks bread--both sides--into a crunchy, golden-brown to dark black, crispy texture! We call it a...Bread Firer!

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

You're going to feel pretty outdated when you realize WoW has had black character choices of all races for YEARS, and the 'black people kek' joke went out of funny well before Rickrolling.

But, like I said before: welcome to the 21st century.

Well duh, WoW is a western game, with all that cartoony fantasy bullcrap. There are no black people in the eastern world, and so they have never existed until FFXIV wills it so.

And SE said:
"Let there be black people. And there were black people. And it was aight."

Ignoring the fact that 'cartoony fantasy bullcrap' somehow doesn't apply to Galka, Tarutaru, Mithra and every other cartoony fantasy bullcrap FFXI has, or that there are are people of African descent in the eastern world, and that stereotyping and making broad assumptions is apparently SOP here...

Yeah, the internet as a whole is used to non-white people in MMOs, because FFXIV would be near the last donkey to cross the finish line in this regard, so let's not ring in the new MMO with a blatantly offensive and horribly outdated and overused racial commentary that's new only to YOU.

I'm quite sure that you're confusing fantasy characters with 'cartoony' characters. Compare the WoW races to FF races and one of the best distinctions would be the 'cartoony'-ness.

and chill out.

I seriously don't understand why people make such a big deal about race in a video game. My character in FFXI looks almost nothing like me and I'm a Hume. If look real close, you'll see the Hume's have Asian features especially the eyes. FFXIV's darker skin palette choices aren't new races, just customized pixels. Oh, and since when are all black people from African descent? That's news to me.

Apparently, some people are forced into the black=African. A German girl I dated once told me that where she worked in Germany (hotel industry), management made them refer to ALL black people as African-Americans, even if they were black Germans, or even just Africans.

My black xiv mule will be named Arfican.

Edit: Deleted an unnecessary "just".
