I wonder if there will be attributes or some sort of bonuses added for what craft you choose like in world of warcraft. For instance mining gave you a toughness perk that increased your overall health. Blacksmithing allowed you extra gem slots on your items. Skinning increased your critical hit chances. It would be neat to implement something like this into ffxiv.

The crafters and gatherers are actual classes in ffxiv and you'll be able to master each and every one of them on 1 character so this whole certain buff for choosing a certain craft is impossible. There could be skills available from the crafter and gatherer classes that you could equip on your fighter or magic type class. What you described as being a part of WoW sounds quite stupid to me. Now something that would be really cool is getting certain bonuses from titles.

I like it! nothing major though... like easy quests could give you +2 HP or MP, but the really tough ones could give you stat bonuses or abilities (EX: movement speed +10% at night). It would be best if you only could have one title at a time.

To fully derail the thread, I'd think it'd be cooler to have titles not give you the benefits, except perhaps charm/coercion/fame (if those exist in FFXIV) but to give party enhancements: ATT+, DEF+, HP+, that sort of thing. Although, that'd open a whole can of worms regarding:

"/sh WHM,BLM,BLM,BLM,BLM SEEKING PLD WITH "DRAGON SLAYER" or "UNBREAKABLE" TITLES ONLY."
...
"/sh EVERYONE ELSE CAN BLOW ME. THANKS."

I think, despite many of these player ideas probably never getting into the game, it should be interesting to see how it turns out.

EDIT:

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure that would even be that cool.

Pay no attention to me...

i just hope it's not wowish... because that's exactly what the bonus is.

Seeing as they are seperate jobs i doubt it will happen but yeah.

WoW crafting is wayyyyyy too easy. Everyone and their dog does it just for the bonus and the "oh i can do it t00".

FFXI is way too hard. Lack of lower end farming from new guys means there is nothing on the AH and when there is it's either overpriced or not worth buying... unless you have to. Even then failure rate is high and success rate doesn't result in quite enough growth. Cause honestly unless cooking you are hard pressed to sell 10 pieces of leather chest armor you made for 1 measily skill level. Armor never breaks so there is tons of recycling of gear.

Maybe is posted somewhere but it seems to be less of a subjob kind of deal and more as a exact style life. Like in the official FFXIV page under Gameplay >>> Armoury System >>> Style Life, "V. The Triumph of Capitalism" this imply that there will be people that do leathercraft as a living. They will have "Clients" and as soon as you log in you probably either have letters in your personal house (If you afford the equipment) or be acquired by a NPC guild which will lend/loan/rent the equipment needed to work.

Indeed you can put an armor and hold a sword and run into the adventure, but I believe they will make it so you have fun as you keep it busy in your craftsmanship. (I wonder if we can sign armor...)

Correct me if I am wrong I would appreciate it
