Some sort of THF role if it's viable, otherwise something that is usually average but can surprise in moments of need. I don't like to tank, I don't like to heal, I don't like to only DD... I like to control the flow of battle. I enjoyed pulling in XI even on marathon sessions. Hopefully something will give me a similar thrill.

Neglected to mention this, but if by some wild chance they add anything resembling a Mime class, or the ability to do so, then I'll be very conflicted in what I end up doing.

Well, not that conflicted. I'd probably end up doing the Mime.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

Mimes could be very hard to implement in a non-turn-based game, ESPECIALLY online ones.

Mimes revolve around lots of strategy, and I can't even imagine how frustrating it would be to be in a party of newbs who keep messing up with your plan. :P

If it could be implemented, though, it has much potential, although I could see lots and lots of lame strats for HNMs using 90% mimes in your alliance. =/

I had designed a very workable, balanced Mime for XI, and I can't imagine it being too difficult to implement. Might be difficult to code, but I should hope that wouldn't stop them, because usually good gameplay features aren't cut and paste jobs.

Would like to know more about the class you designed.

If there's any kind of pet class available, that.

If not, the closest I can get to a black mage or bard. I like to sing songs, and I like to make things go kablooey. Preferably with a tiger at my side.

Whichever job seems to be able to hold my attention span, lol. In XI it was MNK so I'll probably try out Pugilist.
Though the only thing that kept me from lvling RNG was the price, so I might do Archer because I figure it'll be cheaper in the beginning than after a year or 2. If I can get into Beta I'll try Archer there so I have an idea for when the game does come out.
As for craft I'll probably be a Tanner, I've always gravitated towards the crafts that work with skins for some reason.

The writeup is on my PC at home and it's been a long time since I've looked at it, but to the best of my memory:
First of all, no subjobs are active in party, only solo.
Very, very low stats.
Access to all abilities that party (not alliance) members have, except 2hours.
I -think- I decided on a 30 second recast ability, Mime Magic, that allows you to cast a party member's spell for free. This includes ninjutsu. No other access to spells.
Can only equip gear for All Jobs, except for AF/relic. The AF/relic grant Mimic Equipment abilities that allow them to act like the targeted party members' equipment.

I don't recall how I handled traits and skills, but I think I made a merit ability to mimic a trait. I'm thinking something like a B- Mimicry combat skill that worked for all weapons, and a similar skill for magic.

My channel with FFXI battle music and hard to find songs that were not even released on Original Soundtracks.

I also plan on uploading FFXIV music when the game is released.

I want to be some sort of long-distance damage dealer. Probably whatever the closest thing to BLM is. (Will that be thaumaturge?)

I really wish they'd release more information about the DoM. I imagine that the delay has to do with the ability system, and how it can make distinction between different types of mages difficult? But that's just pure conjecture.
