Will we know all the spells/job abilities at the start?Follow

I'm wondering if all the spells/job abilities will be known for each job in FFXIV. Before deciding on which job I want to be, I'd like to know what spells/job abilities will become available for that job down the line.

I started FFXI late in the game, so all spells/job abilities were known and posted online. I'm just wondering if they were known when FFXI launched (like SE documented it somewhere) or if people had to discover them first?

I guess a lot of things will be discovered during the Beta, but there still may be things that just aren't accessible during Beta.

Square Enix will make the players find all of the spells and abilities ourselves. When the NDA gets lifted on the beta i'm sure alot of the testers will start to document all of the spells and abilities into wiki sections so that's the best we'll have upon launch. I'm sure we won't have to wait long, a few weeks at most for every spell and ability to be documented for every class when the game finally launches (incase there was something changed and/or not known from the beta).

no abilities won't all be known that would be pointless.

I ended up deciding on being Bard as my main job. This decision was influenced by knowing that I would use white mage as a sub, so I would get most the teleports from having white mage. Plus I would have to sub black mage to my white mage which would give me Warp.

I think a lot of people are influenced by what they find out the jobs can do. White mage and Thief are the primary examples, because of Teleports/Raises and Treasure Hunter/Flee.

thas's the advantage that BETA testers get.

Even though, it is not allow to spoil the BETA test to public, it would be nice if the players share the information that they found in FFXIV.

The strategy guide will probably have less information than what the Beta testers will be able to post online once the NDA is lifted.

If I get in the beta, I'd probably just compile a bunch of info for personal use in a word document, and maybe post it to the forum once the NDA is lifted. I dunno, I'm the kind of person that'd be highly tempted to keep that info to themself, but then would feel like a selfish jerk for not sharing. But there may be a person or two who prepares an extensive blog with visuals, guides, and all for launch during or after the beta. At least that'd be nice.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

I'll be testing and recording abilities/quests/etc for when the NDA is lifted and I can begin work on the wiki.

I assume by the time it's released, there will be official data on all the classes, and highlights of some of the abilities and/or spells they rely on. Official disclosure of every ability is a little unnecessary I think.
Wiki sights will compile user submitted data rather quickly, and should start around the time of the open beta (unless the open beta has a strict NDA, which seems pointless imo). If you really feel it's necessary to know as much as possible before you start, a wiki page is probably the place to go. But I don't think anybody is going to know all the abilities until they are actually leveled far enough to use them.

And even if something like lolBradyguide did exist this time, and even if it were somehow accurate at launch, it would quickly be outdated as SE adds items, abilities, guildleaves, missions and the like to the game.

Brady Guide aside, people discovered them and whereupon added their own commentary of the usefulness of certain jobs/abilities. You started once all of this information was added online, so you've sufficiently answered your own question.
