Some one posted a pretty dumb 'heart' post being in the FFXIV title.. and upon examining closely if you look to the right you can see a person hold a weapon VERY similar to a handgun. http://enzolog.deviantart.com/art/FFXIV-Logo-125419716 Click it to zoom in He/she is right bellow the woman with the halberd. What do you guys think!?

i dont think its very distinguishable but its not far fetched since cor and rng and thf existed in ffxi.

Guns have been confirmed for ffxiv. What type of guns whether it's handguns, rifles, shotguns, machineguns or even crossbows. can only be speculated upon. Handguns were in ffxi so i'm sure they will be in ffxiv.

i would like to see more types of guns this time around.

Shotguns to have cone aoe and higher dmg closer up.

Pistols to have good balance of range/dmg/fire rate.

Rifles to have good def piercing ability's.

if they had a good range of gun types that act differently i might even think of being rng over other DD type jobs.

That might actually be very possible depending on whether or not guns are main or subweapons. If there is a class that uses guns as a main weapon, it is a guaranteed chance we will see your idea. We already know that within each class, there are already different types of weapons with a myriad of effects, such as the Pugilist having Cestis, Metal Knuckles, etc.

If guns are subweapons, like stones for Archers or javelins for Lancers, then it might not be possible. Still, I think that we will get a class that specializes in guns, because we can't possibly only have Archers as a ranged class (or at least, I hope not).

It's a...GUNDAM!

...but seriously, I loved Corsair, as long as they do something about consumables (ammo and the like) ranged classes should be fine, especially gun/pirate classes!

While this undoubtedly feels like another troll post (there have been many "title secret" troll posts lately) I'll half-bite.

When I was duped by SE into over analyzing the video, as many of us were, I too saw the 'gun' thing. However, the only thing I saw that 'stood out' about the image was the 'dual wielding' that was going on. There are pictures of a guy using a "claw" type weapon in one hand, and a spear in the other. I'd imagine the game has more freedom with weapon combination, and I'd imagine that 'this' was the secret. I'm not going to start my own thread on this because I don't want to add more 'troll-like-spam', but my speculation is that there is no "sub-job" system, but instead a "combo" system. Equip the right combination of weapons, and you become the job that combination unlocks. If there's any secret in that image, I'm sure that's what it is, a deeper explanation of the job system and the 'cool' feature of being able to dual-wield just about anything.

Take a look at the lower-left-hand-image. It's fairly clear he's using a Hand-to-Hand Claw type weapon in his left hand, but also holding a spear in his right hand.

By the way he's holding it I would say it's more likely a small crossbow than a gun. Ussualy one does not brace the underside of a pistol with thier off hand.

That aside yeah we had kind of been told there would be guns along time ago, with gunsmithing being added to the possable craft list, but it's still nice to see people looking for more info anyway they can get it hehe.

Edit: never mind I was looking in the wrong spot hehe, ummm maybe it looks a bit odd.

Editagain: There are an awefull lot of "lightly dressed" people in that picture, didn't occur to me untill now. Lots of shirtless guys and at least one woman wearing clothes that don't look like they want to stay on..

I just hope that they make ammo a non-consumable. As in, you equip the type of arrow, bullet, bolt that you want, and that's it; it never gets used up. Anything else just limits the fun-factor for no real benefit. Nothing bothered me more in FFXI than being in a great party, and having to quit or take a long break because I had to run back to Jeuno to restock.

I don't think they'll introduce this much technology into a fantasy genre. Try CoD: MW2, it has as many guns as you'll ever want.

In the description of the Archer, it says they can use a rock when they run out of ammo. Although I love your idea, and 100% agree with it (I hated restocking and carrying 10 bundles of ammo), I fear it won't be the case. =(

Use a rock? Now that's interesting...I wonder how that would work out exactly. Would the rock's damage scale with your skill? Do you level up a separate "throw rock" skill? Do you gain the ability to throw bigger rocks? Or is it just the same thing as FFXI's "pebble". Also, do you have to pray to the Great Rock for aid in all facets of life involving rocks?**

Clearly I've been up too late tonight.
