So I loved FFXI, it was by far my most memorable gaming experience to date. Unfortunately I got tired of not being able to progress due to lack of networking skills within the game. I had an LS, but I absolutely hated having to beg for help for Genkai and promies and stuff. Everyone else was doing their own thing and way past the content I was on. So eventually I gave up on my lvl 55 BRD, and started BST, got it to 55 and gave up entirely :\. (Oh I also leveled fishing to 75 and got a lu shang's rod, talk about lonely)

So, my hope is that someone here can point me in the direction of a group of people who intend to be semi hardcore in FFXI. I want to get some friends early on in this game because a) I don't want to get left behind, and b) I love helping people out!

Also if there are no groups like that on this forum where might one find one?

just starting the game at the same time as others is HUGE. What I would really suggest if you want to get past certain mission lines is create a static group which will meet every mon, wed, sat to complete the whole line...otherwise it is way too hard to do it with pugs. I had a static CoP group and it still took a good 2+ months of work.

If you are really ambitious you can create a forum for your server where people can gather and plan these things out. I was on quetzcoatl and had to help with CoP etc.

If you're talking about a FFXIV group, over here at Rapture we've already formed a highly organized group called "Rapture". It has over 398 registered users. About 30 active members a day. We're both casual and hardcore, so we'll have those who will rush to endgame ASAP.

If you're interested you could join our pre-release FFXIV LS at
