Ha. It's got the same parachute bug as Pilotwings 64. In that 14 year old game you can dive right into the bull's-eye of the landing target, and if you deploy your parachute just before you hit the ground you get a perfect landing impact score. I guess parachutes take a loooooong time to get right. Man, now I wanna play Pilotwings again.
As someone who has skydived a few times I can tell you from experience that the inherit velocity of your freefall does not allow such antics. Minimum chute deployment is 2000 Feet and that is really pushing it.
The freefall physics and animations are outstanding, very convincing. When I saw that first chute pull it made me cringe though.
Does anyone know what capacity Square Enix served for this game? I can't find anything. I am thinking they helped with CGI animations for the intro or something as this game is no where to be seen even in Squares website.
