I am just wondering if anybody can tell me if the 360 version of FFXIII will give me the item code for FFXIV when I register it?

For those of you headed out to pick up your copy, we’re happy to announce that FINAL FANTASY XIII for PS3 offers an exclusive bonus offer for FINAL FANTASY XIV. Some of you may remember the announcement we made at our E3 press conference last June, but just a reminder that PS3 will be the only console you’ll be able to play FINAL FANTASY XIV when it launches in 2010.

Players who purchase a copy of FINAL FANTASY XIII for PS3 will receive a FINAL FANTASY XIV secret in-game item and be able to enter for a potential opportunity to become a beta tester for FINAL FANTASY XIV for PS3.

Included inside copies of the initial production run of FINAL FANTASY XIII for PS3 are Campaign Codes printed on a special SQUARE ENIX MEMBERS Point Card. Players can register at SQUARE ENIX MEMBERS and receive a code to unlock the special FINAL FANTASY XIV limited offer.

PS3 versions of the game only

I registered again for the beta with the 20 digit code.

Even though it's probably just for PS3 beta was still able to choose Windows PC.

It couldn't hurt for me, even if I get in PS3 beta I wouldn't play it. I'm only interested in PC version.

The code is only for an extra chance to get into the beta?

Whenever I try to input my code it keeps telling me I've input the code incorrectly, though I'm typing it with no spaces just like it said, any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

First: Make sure it isn't the Product Registration Code, you first have to Register FFXIII to get the 20 digit code.

Second: Copy and Paste works better, you can't have spaces.

Sadly its still not working, I keep getting "Promotional key is incorrect, please verify code again" does it have to be in all caps, or will lowercase work?

Mine worked just fine, and I did it in all caps.

I think its a little lame to only offer the in-game item code for PS3 only. I mean I have a 360 but will be playing FFXIV on PC. :( It just doesn't seem fair really...all I can hope for is they'll be a similar item for people leaving FFXI for FFXIV or bonus items following the PC pre-order.

The code is not for an extra chance to get into the beta. Period.

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

So can someone please tell me wtf is going on? Everywhere on the internet I read that users who purchase the first production run of FFXIII for PS3 is given a leaflet inside that you use to register the game and in turn, recieve a chance to become a Beta tester for FFXIV. I DID recieve the leaflet in my copy of FFXIII. I read it, it said to register my game to redeem a bonus gift. However when I registered it, all I got was 50 Member points on their website.

Anyone else have this issue?

I had the same problem, I copied and pasted the code directly from the website and removed the spaces; that actually was my problem. The form only accepts 20 characters and if you copy/paste directly from the page including spaces it truncates the last 4 digits. Just manually type them or copy only the 4 digits at a time.

Also if you're having trouble just entering the code from the game box to get your FFXVI code then it should be noted that the 0 and O need to be played around with a little bit. On the screen "font presentation" it shows the 0 with a strikethrough, this is not actually the case on the code - the 0 (zero) looks more like an O (letter) and the letter O looked like it was a misprinted and closed U. Just try changing the ones you have as an O (letter) to a zero and the ones that you have as a zero to an O and that might do the trick.

If you can't find your code, login to the MEMBERS site and go to the XIII feature page, at the bottom there should be a link to review your code.

I don't have a PS3 or 360 and have to wait for the pc version of FFXIII to come out to play it. No one has a clue as to when it will be released on pc. I have to wait for both :(

I may be mistaken, but I am almost positive that the code included with FFXIII for the PS3 is so that you can register for the beta on PS3. Without it, you can still register for the PC version. I had already registered for the PC beta a couple of weeks ago on the same website, as my browser had data already saved in it from the last time I used that page. The SE website explained that the code is only required for a PS3 beta registration. If you bought the XBox 360 version, just register for the beta for PC.

I wonder if they'll also give w/e this mysterious in game item is to the alpha/beta testers too? I know if I were one of the few selected, I'd put off buying FFXIII, not wanting it to take away from my testing time. I suppose you could buy it and not play it, but that's like telling a crackhead "Here's some crack, but don't use it until you're done with your meth."

A true FF junky will simply play both until death or insanity occurs.

I read that there is an exclusive FFXIV in game item with that code also.

I wouldn't stress on it too much. I've been playing FFXIII for the last few days and am real glad I rented it from GameFly rather than bought it. The game suxass.
