Information from the latest Famistu and Dengeki regarding disciplines and their various armor/weapons are introduced.

Also, new BGM.

Awesome! Thanks for the update.

actually, the new bgm isn't really doing it for me... i hope that isn't the new battle theme.

i liked the ominous piano music they have on the NA site now (at the time of this post) better.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of it either. I'm pretty sure it's the same track from the last full trailer (TGS?). Didn't like it then, especially with the strange line, "And so we fight on!"

I'm a little confused as to why the styles between the sites are different and why they don't update at the same time. You'd think they'd keep the same format and just swap out text.

I'd imagine the different site designs originate from the same ideas that changed the name for the Wings of the Goddess expansion. Japanese had Altana's Soldiers (or whatever), whereas SE felt that NA/EU players would prefer a more poetic title. With these sites, SE just thinks they appeal to each region's tastes more.

I'm curious as to what would lead someone to think they're playing FFXI with Elton John?

It's probably one of the boss battle themes, not one of the everyday running-through-the-forest types. Remember that FFXI launched with half a dozen battle themes plus a few more for story fights, and more were added with the expansions. If you don't like one, I'm sure you can just move to another area to try another.
#9EndlessJourney, Posted: Mar 12 2010 at 12:25 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I really do expect a lot more out of the legendary Nobuo. So far all the music for FFXIV sounds kind of Generic. There are some amazing tracks from FFXI and some absolutely amazing tracks from FFXII. Not to mention all the other final fantasy games and their masterpieces. I really do hope SE doesn't produce anything less than spectacular on the audio front for this game. But yeah, that battle song on the JP site is very generic sounding.

I want to hear more epic sounding tracks like this.

I thought the Final Fantasy XII music was for the most part generic and unnoticeable compared to all the other Final Fantasy music. Unless I just had a really bad experience with XII, because I tried playing it like five times and just couldn't get into it like I could the other Final Fantasies..

Final Fantasy XIV's music is sounding really good to me, I like the new battle theme! Especially when you think about how many MMO's just slap something together to have in the background because they know that people are just going to mute it anyway.
