Possible elements from FFXIII?Follow

I just started playing FFXIII and I was wondering if any one else thinks that the change of stances, that they mentioned in the recent information we got, will resemble the paradigm shifts in FFXIII. That is what it sounds like to me anyway.

We kind of saw a few elements from FFXI be implemented in FFXII. Do you think they could possibly implement other elements from FFXIII to FFXIV? I know the game was just released in the U.S but maybe some one playing and is alot further than I am can input their ideas.

Doubt it, seeing as they are completely different teams working at the same time on different projects. Paradigm shifts are complete class changes on the fly, mid battle, i doubt we'll see something like that. But they will have something in common....Chocobos and a guy named Cid!

well, FFX focused more on party roles than past FF's did, then the very role intensive FFXI came afterwards. Separate teams, yeah, but I doubt they are in total isolation from each other.

I could see FFXIII as getting people 'ready' for FFXIV, making them familiar with the six roles (weapon strikey guy, punching bag, magic blasty guy, boosting guy, healing guy, enfeebling guy)

Well, there's an ability called Paradigm shift for the Thaumaturge iirc :P

The battle system of XIII also reminds me of The Last Remnant somehow. I don't think the teams are that isolated from each other, they probably share ideas with each other and see how it might enhance their game.

Although XIII is more a twitch based game while XIV will feature slower gameplay, so we probably won't see that many similarities.
We really want to compete against World of Warcraft and for example the new Star Wars MMO.

i was playing ff XIII and notice that the character have no level anymore but weapons mods were, so im guessing this would be close to what ffxiv would feel like, knowing that your weapon and other attributes are what define you. also notice that a wand weapon that oerba dia vanille use from ffXIII is in FFxiv. :o(

Well, there's an ability called Paradigm shift for the Thaumaturge iirc :P

There's also a Paradigm Shift called Thaumaturgy, which is formed by using 2 ravagers (nuker) and 1 medic (healer). When I saw that, the first thing I told myself was: "I guess XIV's thaumaturge might be more damage than healing."

Edit1: meh. I just realized that I had confused Thaumaturge and Conjurer for who gets the heal spells. Nothing to see here, really.
