I'm sure hoping to **** subjobs don't exist, Don't need another dumbarse repeat of every job requires /nin bull. I know how useful it is, but it destroyed the challenges in the game and made things that much easier in game. Anyways, just my 2 cents, have a nice day.

I can't remember which interview stated it but they mentioned something about an Archer being able to "equip" abilities from whichever Disciple of the Hand that makes arrows to be able to make them on the fly.

I doubt there will be subjobs in the FFXI sense but there is no doubt in my mind that there will be a way to use abilities from other jobs.

Edit: Found it. Dengeki Interview.

A: Only Disciples of the Hand will be able to make arrows. However, in the future, by putting abilities from a Disciple of the Hand on an Archer, they could attain some limited crafting ability.

It would be as if you have all the abilities of your current class and can pick out traits from other classes you've played. Almost allocating points to them like the blue mage in FFXI.
Someone else on here said it, and it made perfect sense... However we don't know for sure if it will be used in that way.

If that is the case, I still hope that there isn't a certain class that uses dual wield and we have to waste a slot (or points) on it. I always thought it was BS that ninjas were the only dual wielding job. Could be cause I personally didn't care for the job, but it would have just made sense for other jobs to, you know, use their other hand.

i kind of agree with you that it would make sense that the other classes could use a weapon in each hand common sense..but its always been that way..it is a FF online game..so by FF lore pretty much only ninjas have ever gotten the dual wield ability.

A issue came about because of poor design. The damage calculations for 1-handed weapons vs 2-handed weapons should have been different. There needed to be more reason to use a shield in the off hand and Utsusemi was FAR too effective to pass up.

I do want an ninja-type Assassin in this game and dual wield as a possibility, though I hope they it's not so game breaking.
