...a pet class of some kind, please please please. As someone who has drg and bst at lvl 75 on XI, I'm a little worried that they haven't mentioned any type of pet-using class yet. Let's keep our fingers crossed, lol.

Pretty please, SE, don't let us pet lovers down...

I'm with ya.

Personally I'd like to see a class somewhat like Hunter in WoW (inb4 blablabla). You capture a mob's soul essence, sorta like in pankration. You can store perhaps 3 different mobs (for variety) on soul plates, raise them and develop their stats, and choose which to use depending on the situation.

A pipe dream I know, but I think that would be pretty fun. The major reason I was so drawn to Hunter in WoW was because you got to choose your pet out of a huge variety. Sure there were the min/max pets, but if you were a somewhat casual player like me you could get a pet that let your personality shine through.

Heh, now I miss my Wasp (aptly named JanetVanDyne Smiley: laugh)

I hope there are pet classes at some point. But pet classes can be hard to balance, so I want them to take their time and do a good job with it.

I don't think anyone should be stressing this. Were at a stage when the closed beta has not even started yet, much less a larger public beta and we are speculating on the jobs.
On FFXI none of the original jobs that you could have were pet jobs. Although there were 2 in the game at the time, SUM and BST you could get at level 30.
I did not get to participate in that beta, but I have my doubts that anyone got to play those jobs. As a matter of fact, I doubt they were annouced until right before the game came out that they were avaialable.
I am sure this is a job class that will not be left out of the game upon its release.

They became available around the end. I personally unlocked bst before the beta ended, mainly because of how easy the quest was.
