There's been alot of buzz lately and apparently SE have activated another 160 accounts per region.
But people are saying they didn't get any email or anything. So just a heads up

square might not do anything, but you'd probably be banned from these forums.

There's nothing on BG about this.

Would it appear under notices on the SE account?

Sounds extremely unlikely. I was recommending you attempt to log into the beta site on the 11th anyway though, and I still would if you haven't attempted yet. Couldn't hurt, at least, and there may be one person who missed the memo and really did get into the beta and doesn't know yet.

I can't tell you how I know, or give you a source because that would break the NDA. But let's say hypothetically you could see how Many members were registered, that number might have gone up by 160 on friday, if you catch my drift.

With all this talk of alpha specs and new alpha recruits, perhaps today and tomorrow will be big days...maybe the site is being updated as we speak.

Those mystery EU accounts are probably a result of the special recruitment "contest". That's a lot of emails to go through and check POL validity, maybe they finished all the EU accounts and applied them to the beta.. and were waiting until they got through the rest of them to send emails out.

Mathematically, if 160 people per region were randomly accepted, it is extremely UNLIKELY that any of them happened to read this thread.

Unless of course a *feeling* means someone PM'd you, in which case kudos on spreading the love and joy :)

I don't even know how to check my old SE account ...

Just re-read this thread, I thought it was 160 EU accounts? *shrug*

You can check your account by just going to the beta site and attempting to login. Or do you not know the login info?

If I were in the beta, I'd only be able to speak for the EU portion of it because that's where I'm from. It would just be an assumption that the same applies for the rest of the world.

But my best guess is that the beta invites are going from the Zam/Wiki applications, so it very likely a big portion of those would read this, and I can assure you they have.

Don't forget there was the French site that sent 100 in emails. Provided they all had active POL accounts and any other requirements SE was looking for, that leaves 60 from ZAM/Wiki.

If I knew someone in beta, they may have just mentioned a lot of accounts added to the NA site on the 19th and 20th. Some of them may have even posted on the forums, still no word of emails.

So what is this exactly? Or how does it work?

You go to the FFXIV beta website and attempt to login with your SE account? And if you get a successful login, you have been accepted into the beta? Is that what you all are getting at? :X Like, saying some invites weren't sent out and some can still get in not knowing they were invited?

Am I making sense? XD lolquestionseverywhere.

I'm just hoping that in the next couple days, those of us dying to see some beta action will receive the fabled email from square enix. My fingers are definitely crossed.

Yes. If you aren't accepted, you'll get an error telling you something along the lines of you do not have the service. It will tell you to login to your SE account and apply the service, but unfortunately they were smart enough not to allow us to add ourselves to beta.

Patience, we still have many months to release and I would rather they get things right before rushing it out the door. Not that I have seen a post or anything, but they may have said they were having server stability issues after implementing new client features.. thus holding up the alpha.

I realize that I'm a huge idiot when it comes to these things. Is there any way someone can tell me how to find this out without breaking the NDA?

..Is asking this breaking the NDA?

Almost 1000% sure that you would've recieved some sort of notification, but if the absence of evidence is not necessarily the evidence of absence...
First check your e-mail, then:

https://dev-na.ffxiv.com/

^ Click this, then click the button for FFXIV beta login and enter your SE ID info. Then hang your head because you didn't get in.
