Do you guys think that SE will carry over their enthusiasm for in-game festivals that they showed in FFXI? I really hope so... I especially hope that they carry over the christmas festival, I love how they put lights in the trees and such <3 . The first steps I ever took in FFXI was in Sandoria with all of the christmas decorations. What festivals do you hope they carry over or create?

I hope so as well. I don't see a reason why they wouldn't. It's a good idea to keep people interested. I remember the Easter events in FFXI most fondly. I kept churning out painted eggs for almost a whole day lol. They flew outta my inventory!

I like the festivals that have community events, and little mini-games for cool rewards (Cosmetic character changes, pets etc...)

Seems likely. I always loved the different flavors of christmas decorations in all the cities.

I would think that this is a definate. None of the MMO's i have played have not had these special festivals.
I had they dont buck this trend as i love doing these "festivals". Was fun running round easter and xmas :)
It would be nice if they added a few of their own into the mix too, so keep the obvious like halloween, Xmas and Easter and then add some holidays from in game :)

Yeah these were always a blast! I am sure they will keep them around. It would be silly not to.

I enjoyed doing the seasonal event stuff in FFXI, but my one big complaint was that they never had matching pants. You had your yukatas for Summerfest, the Dream gear, etc. I think I commented to my linkshell one day that my Galka was going to just run around in a rusty subligar until I got event-based pants.

I think it would be a great idea, as everyone else also seems to think, to keep the festivals they've already had going on in FFXI, but with a little bit of a twist so that it's obviously not a clone of FFXI.

But in addition, if it's not too much of a hassle, I would love to see clan/race related festivals being celebrated at different times through the Earth/Eorzean calendar. I think it adds a respectable duality to the game. There are the unifying holidays that everyone can partake in, such as Easter/Halloween/Christmas AND there are holidays in which the Miqo'te Seekers of the Sun could perhaps celebrate the sun? That's obviously just a rough idea, since the whole background for the clans/races hasn't been published. What do you guys think?
