Honestly friends, it's not looking good for our RPG giant, and for SE to be losing to Zynga is a harsh blow! Head on over to the link below now and cast your vote before it's too late!

I'd love to support what SE is doing as a game developer. Maybe if they shot me a beta invite so I could see what they've been up to with their most recent shenanigans I might be able to offer an informed vote...

Square-Enix is a great developer/publisher.

But the quality of their games fluctuates to much. They need to find a way to consolidate their teams so the same quality runs across all games and IPs.

And in my opinion FFXIII was rushed somewhat. I'm willing to forgive considering it was their first full HD Final Fantasy so I imagine they had to find ways to make content building quick and efficient (which is why the game is so linear) Hopefully they've learned what they needed to learn and FFXV turns out to be better. Though I will say that everything the FF team touches in terms of quality of design and development is flawless they've always had great attention to detail.

wow thats too bad. i cant believe zynga is even in that tournament. i know they make tons of money but all they make are flash games the spread spy/malware. every othere developer on that list actually makes games not just shovelware. if they were not spaming social sites to vote for them it would not even be a contest, its a joke there even considered

I wholeheartedly agree, Morval.

To even think of SE losing to Zynga breaks my heart. The two aren't even in the same league.

I'd be much more likely to support other developers. SE makes great games that I love, even the bad ones, but they aren't the best by a longshot. I'd be much more inclined to vote for Bioware, Blizzard (sorry blizz haters) or Nintendo. I'd probably vote for Nintendo, ultimately, considering Mario and Zelda even though the franchises have gone down hill in the last several years.

I just don't think SE quite gets what western audiences enjoy while the Nintendo franchises appeals to pretty much everyone. Considering WoW's and Starcraft's popularity in Asia and around the world I'd say the same thing can be said for Blizzard. Not so sure about Bioware but they make awesome games.

I do agree on many points, SE isn't the company it used to be and sure, they aren't the 'best' game company out there. Feel free to vote for Blizzard, Nintendo, Bioware, or others, even later against SE if it comes to that.

The focus right now lies in defeating a company that, as has been mentioned, hardly qualifies as a game developer. Zynga has thus far blown right through their competition and it has to stop. SE has made wonderful games in the past and is well known for representing the RPG genre as a whole. While this may or may not be true, they still don't deserve to lose to 20 min a day flash games.

Very true, just noticed they were losing against a developer I knew nothing about. However, the escapist seems to take their jolly time sending the confirmation email after registration.

How does Ubisoft beat Namco? The only Ubisoft games that come to mind are Assassin's Creed, the Tom Clancy series, and Prince of Persia.

Namco is responsible for not only timeless classics like Pac-man and Dig-Dug, but also really popular series such as Soul (Edge and Calibur) and the Tekken series. On top of that, they are the brand of the largest chain of commercial arcades in the United States. They're basically the main reason that the arcades have survived into this decade.

Really shocking.

Zynga wins because of facebook. Like it has been said before, that they are even in the competition is a joke, but the fact that they are actually winning is, to me, not very surprising.

Personally I'd go with Blizzard. I love SE and they've made some of my fave games of all times, but for me Blizzard wins. The quality and success in/with every game and new franchise they come up with is just unrivaled in the industry imo. They just keep such a high standard in everything they do, that it feels like the right choise.

Just pack the voter box with SE votes, and encourage people you know to do the same.

Well seeing as SE is most likely going to be beat by zynga (which turns the stomach), i'll have to root on Valve or blizzard now. For blizzard all I can say is Diablo 2 that alone gives it my approval, oh but Valve with Half Life and Team Fortress 2, i'll be damned to pick if it comes down to those two.

Well, I'd like to say Zynga is padding its votes, but there probably are that many people voting for them.

I'd have a hard time picking between three of those developers if I were to bother signing up to vote, but SE wouldn't be one of them, sadly.
