what exactly is entailed when it comes to being a "women"?

What kind of job is that?

I never noticed the pictures that were supposedly posted on March 12th! The ones of in-game footage in a mine-like area. Fighting Orcs, giant crab enemies, etc.

Known as "Seawolves", this Roegadyn tribe is feared as marauding pirates from the northern seas. Nowadays, the number of Seawolves who fare the high seas are becoming crewman or sailor.

I guess the "Woman" job would give you a boost in your Cooking skill?

On the site it says this about the "dark elf" This natural gift, and uncanny awareness it grants, has proven advantageous in the field of hand-to-hand combat.

Does this mean picking the Duskwight Elezen as a Pugilist is better then a Highlander hume Pugilist?

Or it could mean that Duskwight Elezen are naturally better than the other clan of Elezen at H2H combat >.>

We don't know, but all the races have 2 clans and its perfectly possible one clan will have an advantage over the other in certain classes while not having an advantage over other races.
For example Hyur Highlander may equal Duskwight "Shader" Elezen at pugilism, but Hyur Midlanders may not. If that is the case I am not sure I like the idea, but it is slightly better than having one race that is best at a certain class (in the eyes of the community. Unless of course you absolutely wanted to be a Hyur Midlander Pugilist then you may hate that system !(if it even exists lol)

Like for all we know the Desert Lala's could be less susceptible to blind/darkness status being desert people and having eyes finely made for that climate.

That balding Roegadyn Seawolf looks like my old Galka. That's the race/clan I'll be going with, especially with the mention of how they're fishermen, which is what I was planning on for my first class anyway.

I can make this happen for just 100 Gil XD.

Oh, and at this point, Race selection doesn't effect how you perform your Job.

I think at best the flavor text that says that Clan X excels at Class Y will make those places where NPCs tend to have those jobs, and maybe there will be class-related quests in those areas. e.g., going to the dark Elezen's town to learn new Pugilist abilities.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

Posting this here also as it seemed relevant.
To quote the official ffxiv.com text:
"The Sea Wolves originally hail from the islands of the far north seas, where they still subsist as fishermen and women."
The far north seas are outside of Eorzea, so the implication is the women stay at home in the same way as the Hyur Highlander women are implyed to stay at home, hence they exist but are probably not playable.
I am still seeing pointless arguments on various threads where people are saying the translation must be wrong because otherwise it must mean Roegadyn women are playable, those people need to learn to read lmao!

No, I think it's more the shock that there ARE women. Since they are the Galka equivalent in FFXIV, if they were based off the same race they would not be women at all. Galka were asexual given the "male" gender to offset the Mithra all female stance. I think the shock from that is getting into people's heads that Roegadyn females COULD be playable and are trying to make arguments for other things as well. I'm sure we'll hear something from SE on the matter in an interview at or around E3.
