This video is really interesting and pretty neat. Thanks for posting it :D

Gotta admit though, thinking life as a game in a sense sounds like a fantastic idea. This doesn't mean doing the whole "You attack the TPS Report, dealing critical damage with your +50 Keyboard of Untold Spellcheck". Though that idea is pretty sweet in itself. *ponders*

Good video but I don't know whether to agree with her or call her a lunatic...she may be onto something or she could just be a very optimistic gamer who decided games should be something bigger. Online games, and games in general, are wonderful and for no other reason but them I failed high school. This said, I think that at the same time they made me a smarter person and today, (5 years after failing) I'm doing my 3rd year in Civil Engineering at the University of Alberta. Don't mean to sound like a d-bag but what I'm trying to say is gaming has helped me develop in a sense and it can be a very good thing, of course, too much gaming while schooling or working can lead to very harmful things such as failing or getting fired from work respectively. (again, i'm not trying to brag, trust me i cannot wait to finish Uni because i can't stand it, don't make the same mistake as me :P).

A very interesting idea.

I agree with most of what she says but I think there is a small hole in the philosophy. The games that she mentions during her talk seem more like a role playing environment. Don't get me wrong. In most games, if not all of them, the player assumes a "role." The difference is that role usually contains something more and I think that is what her games are missing.

For example, I really enjoy games that are fast paced and involve a lot of fighting (haha...). Others may enjoy game purely for art, music, and creative storylines. The games that she talked about are very interesting, but if I'm not on an epic fantasy quest as a swordsman to save the world from evil space ghosts then I wouldn't be as inclined to play.

Bottom line for me is that her games seem too much like a role play blog. I at least need a sword I can swing around and actually see the enemies drop.
Here are some pictures from the XI beta:
Some cool pics of the Gigatoad and GM characters in there

Some old videos I made (Don't make fun of them, I was young at the time):

XI beta tester, played for 3 years, if you remember Superguy send me a PM
