So how much $ will the subscription cost? Has any information has been posted about pricing and such? I think I remember reading an interview where one of the Developers said something about changing the subscription to something like you pay for how much time you have played. I'm not really sure but I was just curious! Thought? opinions??? Will it be $12.95 again? or Whatever it is for FFXI.

The subscription starts at $5.00 and will go up $.01 every time someone leaks information....

on a serious note, probably all content ID's will be the same price, and can be applied to any game.

Like, 2 content ID's is 12.95 + 1.00. As long as they are continuing to have ffxi and ffxiv and think / want people to play both, I would imagine that they will do this. The framework for such a thing is already in place.

I think what you are referring to is the Devs are working on you don't pay per month, but rather for X number of days unlike the old(not sure if it's current) FFXI system.

Based on what we've been told, they're changing ti so that instead of billing cycles that start on the first of the month and pro-rated for partial months, the month subscription will start on the day you pay for it and continue for one month.

Speaking of content ID's, I hope they would let 2 content ID's from the same account be logged on at once. It was rather annoying muling and even more annoying having a 2nd serious character on the same account that you can't use along with the main character.

The odds of this happening are very slim to none. They want there to be as many actual accounts as possible.

That would benefit RMT more than legitimate players.

Actually now that i think about it if they fixed the terrible... terrible storage system we won't need mules.

For example in FFXI unless you had storage furniture, spare money and a bunch of gobbie quests done you had virtually no chance of doing some serious crafting. I would love to sit down for a week or two or three and pound out some serious fishing/cooking but if i only have 20 slots onchar, limited item stacking and very little storage in my mog house it's just not happening.

We'll see, i'm fine with paying the $1 for a mule if needed.

IMHO anything more than $15 a month is pushing it. I don't want it to go up at all, staying at it's current price should be fine. But if it does "need" to go up, there is no reason that it should be anything more than $15.

and by $15 I mean $14.95 :)

Unless they changed something later, they never prorated for partial months. You were charged the full fee whether you activated on the first or the 30th. It was highway robbery.

They always prorated it when I played, but the reduced rate for the partial month was charged the month after if I'm not mistaken. (ie. if you activated your subscription 50% of the way through the month, you'd pay a full month sub and the next month was pro-rated).

I hope SE don't do their usual terrible marketing and instead charge a fee that is competitive with other MMO's, no forget other MMO's, competitive with WoW.
No matter how good ffxiv is, if they want to take a share of WoWs massive 62% of the MMO market and 11.5 million accounts they can't go around charging more than them, especially if they bring back extra charges for more than one character.
