I am wondering if anyone knows a friend that tried to play alpha with a low end PC.

Lowest specs i think will work is based on what i know that can still play new games(ex:Mass Effect 2, Assassins Creed 2, Splinter cell)

ATI HD4670
2GB ram

will not get max frame rates but maybe still playable if not really CPU dependent and knowing this is alpha performance can improve at release with low end specs.

Can't post alpha system requirements for you because they're in a document covered by the NDA, but you should be okay with those specs. Alpha specs are subject to change for release version anyways.

not really talking about system requirements cause most official system requirements are not as low as they can go.

i seen games play below minimal requirements but if we can not talk about hardware oh well, guess ill find out at OB or some other alpha phase.

i dont see many games that will run on p4s nowadays - so you will probably need a pentium d at least. you could get away with a lower gfx card though. even radeon 4200 integrated chips run the majority of new games on low, but yeah a 4670 is about the lowest for medium ish settings at a high resolution with a decent frame rate most of the time

My guess:

Dual Core CPU
GeForce 7900 GT or equivalent.

This is for getting a picture and being able to move your character and use menus. No promises on a playable framerate. My advice? Google the alpha specs. They should give you an idea of what to shoot for to get something playable. If you plan to upgrade, bear in mind some new graphics cards cost significantly less than older, lower powered ones for basically no reason. Also note that (according to the interview on the front page) the lighting has changed since alpha began, including new, dynamic shadows.

And of course, before you commit to buying new hardware specifically for one game, get the official specs for the finished product.
