(The code you receive after registering your copy of FFXIII at square-enix.com)
Has anyone here received one and applied it to your beta app.? Since I have already applied, I was wondering if applying the code will affect my beta chances. I have read about the special items, but I don't really care about that at the moment. I'd like to apply the code, but with S-E being so secretive about the whole beta process, I don't want to mess anything up.

There's several posts on here stating that every time you submit a new app, your old one is negated. The official site also says that no preference is given to applying with or without the promo code.

Edit: At this time it appears the only thing the promo code is good for is the 'special item' in FFXIV.

The promo code also allows you to register for the ps3 beta... right? Every time I try to register for the ps3 beta, it says that the code is required. Forgive me if this has already been said a million times already.

I suppose it may be required. I didn't try to apply until I had the code already.

I read that while the notice about the code says it's for PS3, when you actually add the code, you can apply for either PC or PS3. I may have misunderstood the article though.

If I remember, when you choose your PC specs, you are applying for the PC version. If you say you're only going to play PS3 it made the PC spec options disappear. I would think that would be how you would need to fill out the form if you were applying for the PS3 version (in addition to applying the code).

The sad thing is, if you email S-E, the customer service guy will say they know nothing about the beta and cannot help you. So it's kind of a crap shoot.

In order to apply for the PS3 beta, I'm 99% certain that you need to have purchased FF XIII in some form in order to be eligible. I tried to sign up for the Beta for PS3 and I was always told that I needed to enter the promotional code from FF XIII in order to apply for the PS3 beta. (The computer Beta had no such restriction.)

Rumor on BG, which could be true; that they are pulling from the PC/PS3 pool for the Alpha 2/Beta 1 going on now. I registered for PC in the beginning and then used the code to re-apply again which was supposed to remove the PC application and be overwritten by the PS3 application. It doesn't seem to be the case from what few people are saying. So it's possible that both applications remain in their records. Maybe the PS3 is just appended onto the original. Regardless, good luck to everyone else trying to get in.
