I was looking around the web and found some images of the banners SE has set up for E3. I thought it would be nice to share. Here they are listed below:

Also here is a snippet posted by the site that took the last photo.

Now this is interesting. The entrance foyer is dominated by banners and posters of the new Final Fantasy MMO, with one important label absent: the platform. Major exclusives always have the console displayed prominently on the banner, yet FFXIV’s removal of PS3 branding could indicate a potential switch to multiplatform release. We’ll have to wait and see.

Kind of a subliminal message on that second one.

The more people who have access to XIV the better IMO. Also inb4 360 limitation jokes.

the only real xbox limitation... if you can call it that. Is hard drive size. I have seen a bunch of games looking way better on the 360...

Although the people with small hard drives have the issue on 360 and ps3. Funny considering even when ALL these consoles came out the hard drive was the most retarded component to skimp on. The price different is minimal at best lol...

er' skimp in terms of the companies not the people buying the console. Even a couple years ago a 1tb drive was... $130? and imagine how much cheaper the smaller drives are. Probably would cost them $3 more to put a 40gb in, instead of a 20gb and so forth.

Well I don't want to get my hopes up about xbox just yet. I mean that quote says major exclusives - and FFXIV wasn't going to be an exclusive from the start. It's doesn't necessarily mean that it's coming to xbox, just that it's not exclusive to the Ps3 (Or Windows, for that matter).

It's also possible that the banners were made without it specifically for this reason - they didn't know whether they could come to an agreement or not and it was best to just leave all branding off of the banner entirely. Save time, money, and potentially a soiled reputation if they advertised something and couldn't deliver.

Well since SE doesn't have a conference of their own and Microsofts conferences just ended. I think an awaited "Xbox360" release is not going to happen at E3 if it ever does now. I wonder if SE is planning to run their new trailer at the Sony conference or will it just be a terminal constant looping trailer on the playing floor?

My compliments to the PR guys.
They've been in good form lately.

It may just seem odd because rarely do MMORPG get this kind of PR but SE had literally the exact same promotion places for FFXIII at last years E3 (minus the huge ads on the sides of buildings). That includes the stairs. So basically they are approaching the PR for FFXIV as much as they gave FFXIII... wait... that means we might have commercials too?... >_> well... hopefully they are better then the 'slay the dragon' commercial they made for FFXI and Playonline XD.

If XI had commercials. Why wouldn't XIV?

Sadly only the perfectly reasonable one is on Youtube.
That laughably bad one where everybody was standing around like a Calvin Klein models seems to have been lost in the annals of time. This 'Slay the Dragon' business, however, is new to me. Is that the same commercial as the one I'm describing, or were there actually multiple bad commercials?

I think that's kind of a far-cry for a xbox360 release; as someone has stated already, FFXIV obviously isn't a PS3 exclusive. Its for the PC as well, so obviously the banners wouldn't have the PS3 on it only; which kind of debunks this theory.

Thanks for the pics though Eklm, looks like FFXIV is going to get quite a bit of PR :).

God I'm trying to find it. Never seen that particular commercial though. The one i'm talking about was more a playonline commercial then a FFXI commercial. It had people getting together (with real people, hardly showed anything about FFXI) and connecting together through playonline. "Time to slay the dragon" was the catch line for them playing FFXI. It was god awful but I think it was mostly stuff that circulated on the internet and maybe Japan. It was old news before FFXI even came out over there much less in the NA. The thing was it was in english which was the most confusing part of it. It might have actually been an E3 video or something it's been a long time.

I remember that 'Commercial'. It was incredibly long. It must have been a Playonline promotion at some convention. (No one in their right mind would pay for the air time for a commercial that long) It was also really cheesy.

Either way, I would have to agree with the reason for not including the exclusive platform on the sign. Usually you only include the platform if it is exclusive to a single platform. FFXIV is already not exclusive to PS3, it is going to be released on the PC. I think that people are reading way too much into the posters if they think it means Xbox 360 is a 100% bet at this point. I hope I'm wrong, (I'd love to play my FFXIV on my big screen) but I just don't think its going to happen, at least not at E3 this year.

That commercial came with FFXI in japan i believe. That, or it came on DVD as a promotion from some other game.

Actually i just found the one i was thinking of.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0vflkroe24

"This promo video for FFXI was included on the bonus disc, Other Side of the Final Fantasy in the NTSC-J version ..."

So not the one you guys were talking about, but a classic all the same.
