I just recieved an email from SE advising that their E3 virtual booth has opened. While this doesn't contain any additional info, it does have a section for fans to ask questions about their new offerings and get answers. I will list the links below:

Sweet FFT going to iPhone is an awesome thing. I don't own one and don't ever intend to, but if enough people grab the OG version on the Apple products maybe we'll get a new game based on the non-GameBoy versions (which I loved too, but I really prefer the direction War of the Lions goes).

Wow so apparently all square enix IDs created before March 1st 2010 are no longer valid and we have to re-link yet ANOTHER account with Square? They have the most convoluted online login system I've ever seen in my life.

*edit*

What are you all submitting for your Fan Powered Q&A?

I've been privy to a lot of insider alpha info, so that plus all the new interviews/E3 news made me have to really think about something that hasn't been touched on yet. That I know of, at least. I asked:

With the removal of the Play Online system, what are your plans to allow people to communicate with friends who may be offline, or to be able to search for new friends? --something to that effect.

I suppose in retrospect I might have asked about their communication system in general to replace POL. But I'm hoping (if it's answered) a more specific question might get a less vague answer.

I signed up May 26th and that one isn't working either. I'm guessing they meant June 1st?

This isn't a square-enix account that we use for FFXIV or FFXI. This is the members site and it has a completely different login system and ID's. Its the place you go to register your games and get updates on new products coming out from them along with a host of other facebook like areas for fans. If you got FFXIII this is where you would have had to go first to get your beta code for FFXIV on the PS3. Register at this site, register the code and then the beta code would be emailed to you to register on the 'other' account we all use for FFXI... yes they need to streamline it more.

They probably won't answer, but I asked if they ever planned to release Before Crisis in the US.

Never confuse your inference as the listener for an implication of the speaker.

Good games are subjective like good food is subjective. You're not going to seriously tell me that there's not a psychological basis for why pizza is great and lutefisk is revolting. The thing about subjectivity is that, as subjects go, humans actually have a great deal in common.

It's 0132 GMT, they've answered 3 Kingdom Hearts Q's so there's hope when I wake up later on today there might be more questions answered. There's a few boxes I'm curious what other fans have asked, I don't expect them to answer any of mine :p

Yes, and we now have to totally recreate that login. I've had a Members acct for a long time. Just annoying is all.

Hmm, well E3 is over now. Looks like there will be no answers for the Fan Powered Q&A for XIV? Kinda lame...

They did dungeon Siege 3 Today. Looks like the virtual booth updates every 2-4 days, and FFXIV last 1 to do, so hopefully we see it soon.

So people don't need to click the links

"What will be the major differences between FINAL FANTASY XIV and other modern day MMORPGs besides the fact that it will be in the FINAL FANTASY style? What will set this game apart from the rest?

A. Hiromichi Tanaka, Executive Producer; Yasu Kurosawa, North American Online Producer[Tanaka] There are two main differences. One is the armoury system, which allows players to switch their classes based on the type of equipment they are holding in their hands. This unique system gives players unlimited flexibility to customize their character by allowing them to combine actions and abilities learned from all different classes. The second is the guildleve system, which provides players with an array of short quests that require approximately 30 minutes to complete. This allows players to efficiently manage their time if they have limited time to play the game or if they want to adventurer solo.

[Kurosawa] In a broader sense, being a FINAL FANTASY game, XIV will have a great storyline, beautiful graphics, and breathtaking sound effects and music.
Q. OldManJoeWhat is the most important thing you believe was missing from FINAL FANTASY XI and you worked hard to make sure it is implemented in XIV?

A. Hiromichi Tanaka, Executive ProducerThe armoury system and guildleves are two major improvements from FINAL FANTASY XI. In XI, players had to join a party in order to do most everything, but it was often very difficult to find the appropriate members to form an effective group. The new armoury and guildleve systems allow players more flexibility.
Q. FincheloAre you planning on adding more job classes in future expansions? Will there be a level cap?

A. Hiromichi Tanaka, Executive ProducerThere will be more classes announced after the service starts. For the beta version, there will be a level cap, and there will also be a level cap at the start of the service.
Q. asimpson115Will there be a rank system and/or rank missions in FINAL FANTASY XIV?

A. Hiromichi Tanaka, Executive ProducerThere will be quests that coincide with the main storyline, but they won't be tied to the levels or ranks.
Q. RuamFFXIHow will chocobos be implemented in FINAL FANTASY XIV?

A. Hiromichi Tanaka, Executive ProducerPlayers will be able to ride chocobos as usual, but they will also appear in ways new to the FINAL FANTASY series. Please look forward to seeing how in the final release.
Q. Nightdrake0Will there be summoners in this game?

A. Hiromichi Tanaka, Executive ProducerCurrently, there is no summoner class, but avatars (summons) will have a key role in the story, and there are several plotlines surrounding these beasts.
Q. AmsaWhat measures will you put into place to promote class balance?

A. Hiromichi Tanaka, Executive ProducerThere are four different class disciplines: war, magic, land and hand. Disciples of War and Disciples of Magic are the only ones who can effectively engage in battle. One way we have balanced different weapons (and in turn, classes) is by giving them varying attack ranges. This is also similar for the Disciples of Magic. They will most likely be long-range attackers, but their roles in each battle will be determined based on how other party members are positioned. On the other hand, due to their lack of firepower, Disciples of the Hand and the Land will not spend much time engaged in battle."

oh the question I really liked was the one about class balance:

So it 'will' be possible for DoH/DoL classes to engage in battle...they just wont be effective at it. Looks like I'm still going ahead and trying to make a Battle Miner!

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Expect to be throwing rocks every once in a while, not swinging your pickaxe here and there.
