Starting a Company at Launch!Follow

Hi, Exerion from Titan FFXI here. I would like to know if anyone is interested in starting a Company/Linkshell community at launch! I am based in the UK currently and am only fluent in English, but anyone from EU or NA (if you game at odd hours especially like mornings lol, east coast helps too.) would be great! I would like to get a group that's more or less close proximity considering the time zones. Mainly searching for returning adventures from Vana'diel, Titan especially, but anyone is welcome if your a dedicated gamer and are cooperative and anti-mod (fish botters need not apply) :P

I'm hopping to land a spot on the PS3 Beta, but I don't have my hopes to high, since on my app it states I played XI for like 4 years and have played Square games....for as long as I can remember... It's sad when one of your best childhood memories is finding out Magus joins your party on a wicked wind-swept cliff after my first main char of any game ever died on me. lol, anyhoo seeing that SE will be like :forget him he's already on the Crystal Crack Journey we dont need to bother hes gonna buy the game anyway (SE are mean...) but, if I manage a spot on the Beta I will be looking to start this group in any free time during Beta.

So if your interested drop a question/comment on this here thread and if enough people show interest I will drop my email and any info people might want, and hopefully get something going!

Hopefully will be doing this on Titan Server (if SE carries over its server names, and if Titan is one of the launch servers again, if not then we can figure it out!)

I would be nice if a majority of the forum ended up on the same server. We've had mixed luck in the past with Alla guilds/groups. Then again that is one of the nice advantages to the linkshell/company divide. You can join a company based on your major play interests, end game, crafting, grouping, etc, while still being in social linkshells. The again you run into the problem of only being able to see LS chat for a single shell.

A little off topic for sure, but I really wish SE would implement some kind of cross-server communication.

I think it'd be spiffy if you could have /l for LS chat and /c for company chat.

I also think it'd be spiffy if you could have /l1 /l2 /3 for multiple linkshells but I'm not gonna get my hopes up on that.

I don't want to sound rude, but this will probably get locked. The admins would prefer that you become part of this community before you start recruiting people from it.

That being said, I wish you good luck in starting your Company.

You speak the truth. We've had a number of one-post wonders pass through here to make their recruitment spiel and then just as quickly disappear. And it was stated by Pikko that said one-post wonders would have their threads locked because it starts to get a tad old when there's two new recruitment threads showing up every week for a game not even in beta.

Zerg recruitment is the fast road to Lameville. And that's just the tragic truth.

Let me elaborate on my first post.
My intention was to see if anyone on Alla played on Titan, possibly knew me when I played, might want to start a company/LS on a new game, I don't really see the problem with that... I mean isn't that one of the purposes of game forums?

And as to this being my first post, I've visited the site many times through the years but this is the first time I've joined and posted a thread, cause before I was too busy playing FF XI!

But seriously just looking for a couple good people that I can play a game with. :)

So you dont wanna join my thousand women per 1 man club? Its cool I'll take it somewhere else :P

I will state though, not only is it easier to get members from a board you've been a part of for a long time just due to post count respect, but most likely once you become a part of the community bonds will form with a couple players and you can start a company from there. **** you might even get lucky and meet some interesting ladies who also like to play :)

Correction, all women are men unless they show pics*. At least that's what they tell me.

And it's your response right there that led in large part to a promise to lock recruitment threads. I'll explain it to you...

What you're doing is frequently refered to as "zerg recruiting." People who have been around for a while know better than to join in-game communities based around zerg recruiting. The best/longest lasting communities are the ones that are formed by people who know each other and have the leadership chops to keep things running smoothly. Since we don't know you, you put yourself at a disadvantage. And when the community points it out to you, you insult the community and then post again like anyone really gives a **** about your company.

Protip: Most don't. And the sure way to ensure that the rest lose interest is to demonstrate that you're thin skinned and quick to let fly with the ad hominem attacks when you're challenged. That's not leadership...that's "leading a company is instant +4 to e-peen goez!!" So I'll offer you the same advise I've offered the rest...don't worry about recruiting right now. Give the community a chance to get to know you and if you manage to make some friends that want to join you in the game, bonus. If not, at least you're sparing us anymore zerg recruitment spam.

There is no problem here lol, your putting your own spin on this thread, and it's way off the mark.
I am mainly looking for the people I gamed with on Titan, and if failing that, anyone that might be interested in gaming through content with me.

I'm not recruiting for anything, but if I find a few people to go through content with, naturally we would want to start some sort of company/group, just wanted to clear that up...

And I'm not insulting anyone, the reason you feel insulted is that you felt like finding fault where there is none, you are not the community, the other people posting here are at least giving me a little feedback and being productive...

Thank you everyone who posted something relevant...

You may want to consider posting on the Titan server forum. Good luck getting anyone to read it, though; their last active post was 16 days ago.

I've pointed out to you the admin position on recruiting threads and you're coming back being a thin skinned nutmonkey arguing and making a mess. It's a recruitment thread. It will soon be locked. kthxbai

Lol that was a joke dude, honestly I hope this thread gets locked, not cause there's anything wrong with it, cause there's not, just so people don't have to read your hard headed foolishness anymore, there has to be an organization first before you can recruit for it lol what's the name of this organization that I'm recruiting for? You should try to be more productive and less critical man, since the honest matter is you came on this thread with attitude and judgement without even understanding the motivation, and even after I explained my intention not once, but twice, you still wish to find fault where there is none. Chill out kid or your gonna grow up to be a ****. Thank you everyone that's not a closed minded asshat and gave me some good advice, but I'm done with this thread.

Well, with this attitude you surely won't find anyone to recruit. :')

What I thought this topic was about at first, and what I would prefer to see, is getting everyone from this forum on one server. Even if you don't know each other yet, I think it would be really nice!
