Anyone buying both versions at launch?Follow

My sister loved playing FFXI but because I was always leveling or using my character, she never got a chance to get past the 20s. For FFXIV however she will be buying the PS3 version for herself and I will be using the PC version, so we could play together at the same time. Anyone else buying both versions of the game (doesn't have to be at the same time, but maybe in the future).

EDIT: BOTH NOT BOTHER >.<

That's pretty funny. Not only did you say "bother" instead of "both" in the title, but you said it in the last sentence.

But anyways, I'll probably just be getting the PC version since my PS3 is connected to my monitor so it'll suck dual-boxing since my monitor doesn't have a pip function or anything like that. Not to mention, I'm not rich enough to do $30 a month, $15 is ok though.

I will probably only play PC, but I always have the option of the ps3 version if I so desire.

Yup I will bother to buy bother versions. There will be at least 2 people in my house who will play this game. And there is a surplus of tv's and ps3s and not so many pcs.

it looks like I'll be having to get both versions as well. If my girlfriend and I are going to play together we'll need both.

Most likely going to buy a PS3 and get that version initially, but if I find out the game is playable on my laptop will end up getting a PC version as well. I'll wait a year or two before upgrading to a new PC to play it on.

I'll be buying both, hopefully my wife will play... but if not I'll have 2 places to play in the house without getting in her way.

Can you play with the same account on both PS3 and PC or are you restricted to one of them?

I believe they have mentioned that you will not be restricted to the platform you create the character on, very similar to how XI was done I believe.

I will not bother to buy both versions at launch. I will be buying the PS3 version at launch, though I would very much prefer to get the PC version at launch. Sadly my PC is woefully underpowered to play the game and I won't be able to get a nice one for at least 6-9 months after launch. Once I do obtain that dream machine I will switch platforms though.

I will buy both versions. I'm really hoping for an announcement for a Collectors Edition.

I totally did not even think about the possibility of a Collectors Edition. That would be pretty amazing. Will definitely pick it up if that is the case

I still need to register my FFXIII copy to get whatever they give to those who register.

And to get a chance to get into the PS3 beta..

You probably knew this and if so it is a friendly reminder, if not then it is news to you. Your copy of FFXIII has to have been from the original production line to get the code and beta chance. So if you picked it up on the day of launch good for you, if not too bad. I was annoyed when I found that out cause I had no money when it launched and had to wait until mid-May to get my copy, so no code or beta chance for me.

I didn't buy mine until mid may, but it still had the code in it. There wasn't a little cardboard insert below the instruction manual or anything?

I did have the little insert in it, but when I registered it all I got was some Square Enix points. I went to the Secret Code menu under final fantasy tab on the site and it said that since my FFXIII copy was not from the launch date release that I did not get the code for the secret item or the PS3 beta chance for FFXIV.

Wow can't believe I wrote bother instead of both XD. Mime, if you are lucky some used games were never registered. I bought a used copy of FFXIII recently and the code was still valid!

Wow, sorry to hear that. Mine went through. I guess mine came from a store with very low traffic.

Yeah I'm def getting both. Not only because my wife decided to give it a shot, but also so I can use my PC for raids and things that require a lot of attention, and my PS3 for crafting, fishing, or just kickin back.
